Chapter 30

"KHUSHI........ MOVE........"

The glass piece fell on top of Arnav and Khushi's anniversary cake smashing it all around. Everyone was stunned. No one knew what to do and stood in the same place. Akash was the first to gain consciousness.

"Bhai, Khushi Ji, are you guys ok?"

"OMG, Chote, Khushi" followed Anjali.

Khushi was on the floor and Arnav was on top of her hugging her tightly. He was hugging as if his life depends on it.

"Khushi, are you ok? Are you hurt? Can you hear me? Khushi?" Arnav was worried.

"Arnav Ji, I am fine. What just happened?"

"Yes Akash, Yes Di We are fine." Said Arnav as soon as he confirmed Khushi is fine. Both of them got up. Devi was still in shock.

"Mami Ji, Can you please take Nani to her room? I think she needs rest and you too" said Arnav fearing Devi's health. Manu took Devi to her room on the third floor to avoid further noise.

"I am so sorry everyone. Please forgive us but this party is over. The family needs some alone time to digest this incident. We thank you all for joining and once again apologize for the inconvenience" Akash politely asked all the guests to leave leaving only Raizadas and Shyam.

"Khushi, are you sure you are ok? You aren't hurt are you?" Arnav was still worried.

"I am hurt, Arnav Ji. But not because of this accident, but because of what you did"

"What the hell Khushi, if you have something to tell do tell rather than beat around the bush"

 Arnav was beyond angry. He was already angry because of the accident and Khushi's nonsense was making it worse.

"Leave it Arnav Ji, no point talking to you. You will never admit you are wrong so why to waste time and energy"

Khushi was beyond disappointed. She was at least expecting an apology. She was about to leave from there when her phone rang. She saw the caller ID and moved away to talk to that person.

"Papa, are you ok? I was going to call you. I am so sorry Papa, this is all because of me. I am apologizing on behalf of Arnav Ji. Don't worry, we'll come up with something Papa"

"What are you talking about Khushi? I know I asked Arnav to not do anything because I thought I will be able to handle it myself but later I figured out that was anyways out of my reach. I called so that I can thank Arnav"

Khushi was confused, why would her father thank Arnav for ruining his business and his life? She definitely is missing something here. 

"Papa, tell me the whole story. The whole truth nothing but the truth"

"Khushi, this morning I received a letter from the landlord saying I have 48 hours to evacuate the shop. Even before I finish reading the letter, another letter came informing me that I have 24 hours before the whole building is demolished. I didn't know what to do and we were all trying to find out a way when I received a call from Arnav. I don't know how he got to know about this letter but he said he will deal with the landlord. I tried stopping him but you know how stubborn he is, he silenced me saying he is my son-in-law and he has the right to do whatever he wants."

Khushi remembered hearing those words. So he was actually trying to help. Although she knew this story will not end in her favor, she asked her father to continue.

"Just now Aman Ji called and said Arnav has bought the whole complex and named you as the owner. Khushi, you are not only the owner of our shop. You are the owner of the whole complex and he made it rent-free for all the shop owners. Khushi I have to admit, when I first heard about your marriage I was a little skeptical but I must tell you, you are the luckiest. Even if we looked around the whole wide world, we couldn't find a person like Arnav for you Khushi. Now I can close my eyes without worry knowing I fulfilled the promise I made to your dad. Ok Khushi, please pass my thank you and blessings to Arnav"
