Arnav's mind was all around so he closed his Laptop and walked towards the room window. Events that happened a few minutes back were replaying again. At first, he thought Khushi actually tried to seduce him. Why on the earth otherwise she comes in front of him like that? She can't be that clueless.

He wanted to take her right there but when he saw the fear in her eyes when he touched her, he knew Khushi was genuinely clueless. She didn't know what she was doing to him. That's when he turned off the lights and closed his eyes. It was killing him but he had to control himself because this girl has already lost many things in her life and he wasn't going to be the reason for her to lose faith.

He heard the bathroom door unlock and turned his face. Khushi came out wearing a baby pink cotton suit and a dupatta covering her neck. He chuckled seeing her like that. "So she took precaution this time". He grabbed his nightwear and went to have the much-needed cold shower.

Khushi didn't know what to do. She can never express what her feelings are because Arnav was dead clear on his take on love. How will he react to the fact that she is expecting the very thing he asked her not to expect from this marriage? And, their marriage is not even a day old.

"Khushi, I know it is hard but you will have to keep it together. Arnav Ji was clear. He didn't hide anything. Your falling in love with him is your fault, not his." Life was playing with her emotions again. She was not strong enough to handle the rejection she will get if she tell Arnav that she is falling in love with him. Therefore, she decided to keep this to herself.

Arnav saw Khushi sitting on the recliner chair with her thinking cap on.

"Khushi, go to sleep. You have the whole life to think. It's too late now"

She didn't budge. Arnav thought she was ignoring him but in reality, she was lost in him. She has never seen him in casuals. Arnav wore black track pants and a t-shirt. khushi thought he only carried formals in grace but she was wrong, he looked dashing in his casuals.

"Khushi, did you hear what I said? GO TO SLEEP, NOW"

Still, no response, and that made him angry. How dare she ignore him like that. He moved closer to her and looking into her eyes whispered,

"Mrs. Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada, I give you two seconds, if you failed to stand up and go to sleep within these two seconds I will carry you myself and throw you on the bed, and I am dead serious... tick tick one"

Arnav was a man of his words. If he promised something he will deliver it. That much Khushi knew. His eyes confirmed the fact and before he count to a second, she quickly got up ran towards the bed and hid underneath the blanket.

Arnav couldn't help but chuckle at her.

"Interesting" thinking he went to close the curtains.

Arnav turned the lights off and turned on the night light then moved towards the poolside window to close the curtains when he saw a shadow moving behind the pillar. There is only one person in this house who is shameless enough to do such a thing. 

"That basted, how dare he"

He made sure all the doors and windows are locked and the curtains are closed then he lie down on the bed facing the ceiling.

"Khushi, are you sleeping"

He sounded worried and Khushi quickly turned toward him "Arnav Ji, is everything ok?"

"Khushi someone is watching us," said Arnav facing her.

"What.???"

"Shh, Khushi lower your voice. I don't have to remind you who that is. Obviously only Shyam can be shameless to do such a thing. He was hiding behind the pillar by the poolside and was watching us. He might now be standing by the poolside door trying to listen to us so lower your voice"

"But Arnav Ji why, why would he check on us?"

"According to Shyam, you and I were enemies when he left the house 4 days ago. He is a smart person Khushi, I am sure he cracked it. He probably wants to know the real reason behind this marriage. We hurt his ego and ruined his plan. He is like a venomous snake right now, you don't know when and where he is going to attack. So we have to be very careful"

"What are we going to do now Arnav Ji? I am scared. What if he tried to harm us?"

Arnav saw the fear in Khushi's eyes. He has seen many emotions of her but this fear was something he has never seen and it scared him to see her scared like that. 

Without realizing what he was doing, he put one arm around her pulling her towards him while touching her chin using his other hand. He bought her face towards him and looked into her eyes.

"Khushi, don't be scared. I am here ok. I won't let anyone harm you. I won't let that animal come near you. But he is triggered now. So we have to act more carefully. We should make him believe we actually love each other because one simple mishap can alarm him. I am always going to protect you Khushi, now go to sleep ok, good night."

Saying that he softly kissed her forehead. Khushi put her head on his chest and hugged him back. Neither of them realized what a sweet moment they just shared. Both Arnav and Khushi went to sleep hugging each other.

Shyam on the other hand was annoyed, furious, and, frustrated. He was hoping to see a flight or a confrontation but Arnav and Khushi acted like they are actually in love. Anjali has explained everything but still, he wasn't going to believe all that rubbish.

And what about that other guy, who he saw at Khushi's place that night, the one that came to rescue her from him? He said he will come soon to ask her hand in marriage. So that means Khushi is not what she shows she is. She must have seen how lavish life Payal got and wanted the same for herself. So she dumped that guy and trapped Arnav. But Arnav was no idiot. How did he fall into her trap? Yet again, who wouldn't for that milky body of hers?

"So Khushi, you act all innocent and sweet but in reality, you are a bigger player than me. You managed to trap one of the richest men in the country. Since I know your secret now, why don't we shake hands and do this together" A wicked smile played on his lips.

What he didn't know was that Arnav and that guy are the same. Khushi indeed is innocent and sweet.

She was mostly defenseless before but now she has her knight in shining armor around her to protect her. Not even his filthy breath can touch her now.

God has his own way of turning and twisting. Never in his dreams, Shyam thought he will be played like this.

While love was unconditional and eternal, evil always came with an expiry date and Shyam's was getting closer.
