Ella's first class was Divination's class with professor Trelawney. She found her seat and she was seated alone in the middle row. She noticed everyone was seated with a partner besides her.
"In this room, you shall explore the noble art of Divination. In this room, you shall discover if you possess the sight. Hello. I am professor Trelawney. Together we shall cast ourselves into the future. This term, we'll focus on Tasseomancy the art of reading tea leaves. So please take the cup of the person sitting opposite of you," Trelawney spoke to the class.
Ella raised her hand. "Professor Trelawney, I don't have a partner."
"Oh, I'll read your leafs then my dear," she said walking to her table, grabbing her teacup. "Your tea leafs read that you will be searching for love for a long, long, long time."
Ella's face scrunched up in embarrassment as she heard a snicker from nearby. She turned slightly to look, it was Draco, cracking a snicker under his breath. He stared at her intensely.
She took a deep breath. She wasn't going to let him get to her. The class was dismissed. She packed up her books and waited for the class to empty before exiting, sadly that wasn't good enough.
Draco was waiting at the doors, his foot out to trip her. She fell to the floor, her books landed on the floor.
"Watch where your going, Wood," Draco said laughing with his friends. He knocked one of her books down the steps.
"Screw you," Ella mumbled as she got off the floor, picking up her books.
"Excuse me?" Draco said stepping on the book that her hand was about to grab. He accidentally caught the tip of her finger under his shoe.
She winced, pulling her hand to her chest trying to hold back tears. "I said screw you," she said gathering her books, standing up.
"What about your other book?" Goyle asked as she began to go down the stairs.
"Keep it," she said rushing down the steps to go to her next class. Her finger was throbbing.
Draco huffed, reaching down to grab her book from under her shoe. "What a brat," he told his friends as they too began to walk to their next class. The truth was, Draco didn't mean to step on her finger but that was too late now.
On their walk through the halls, heading to Hagrid's class which was outside, Draco noticed Ella had ran into the bathroom.
"I'll meet you guys there," he said as he departed from the group. He entered the girls bathroom, seeing her books on the floor but no Ella in sight. He heard soft cries from one of the bathroom stalls.
Moaning Myrtle appeared. "This is the girls bathroom! No boys allowed."
Ella's cries stopped. "Who's in here?"
Draco sat her book down in front of the stall. Ella noticed the book, she sniffled wiping her tears with her sleeve before opening the stall. She grabbed the book, pushing past him to wash her hands.
"I didn't mean to-."
"You shouldn't be in here," Ella spat out. He noticed her finger was slightly red.
"I didn't mean to step on your finger, okay?" he said again before she could cut him off. She gathered the rest of her books.
"I don't care," she said leaving him in the bathroom. He stood there for a minute before leaving too, he felt pretty silly trying to apologize to her. What made him think she deserved that?
His friends ended up waiting for him in the hallway. They noticed him coming out of the girls bathroom after Ella exited.
They raised their brows at him. "What were you doing in the girls bathroom?" Crabbe asked confused.
"And with Wood?" Pansy asked spitting her name out of her mouth like it was dirt.
"None of your business. Let's go," he said walking off with his friends. They didn't ask any questions about it after that and thank goodness for that.
