As Harley showed them the secret hide out they felt something... wrong. It shouldn't be this easy to find it. It wasn't protected or guarded. There wasn't anything. Hell the place was practically empty. As the suited up people walked in they saw it was deserted.
"Huh... Guess they cleared the place." She shrugs and walks in as if she owned it. "Now where is my necklace," she says, dropping to her knees to look for it. They weren't surprised she didn't care that the place was empty. The rest dropped their weapons to see if there was any evidence but the place was torn up.
"Looks like someone knew we were coming..." Jason says as he pushes over a chair. He sighs deeply before turning to the rest of them. They were just as disappointed as him, hating that this led them nowhere.
"Aha! Found it!" Everyone turned to face Harley and she held up her necklace.
"Really?" Stephanie said.
"Yeah! And also this trap door," she says as she pulls open a door from underground. Everyone rushed over, wanting to look in but it was dark as can be. "Anyone have a flashlight?"
Jason pulled one out and jumped down into the manhole. He landed right on his feet, staring at what seemed to be where Camilla lived. He saw the photos and news articles about Wayne's Enterprises and the detrimental downfall of the billionaire's daughter. Tragic. She had to regain all her memories in the worst way: by looking at herself from the media's eye. She must have hated herself. He looked around more and saw some photos of Taylor and her with Eve. There were some shots of the family too. But not professional ones that are in magazines but more so through her own camera lenses. As if she was watching them, herself. He looked at them and saw dirty little secrets from each one of them. Jason would rip them off the board, quickly putting them in a folder and tucking it away.
"How's it looking down there?" Drake asked as he jumped down too. The rest would follow, wanting to see what she had been up to these past few months.
"Looks like she rediscovered herself through online articles. Ones that would call her mean names and make her out to be some wild child. It seems as if it fueled her. Like she wanted to become someone better while also losing herself on the way. That she became a twisted version of robin hood it seems." Jason would grab the necklace he gave her when they were younger and feel emotions about to be provoked. He would put it in his pocket, hoping they wouldn't notice.
Cassandra would find the plans and realize it would all happen tonight.
"Shit!" she says before dialing Wayne's number. "It's going off tonight! Fuck we got to hurry!" she says moving quickly to go up the stairs. Everyone followed behind including Harley.
"Can I come save Gotham? Maybe it'll get me a job offer!" She was being genuinely serious. No one has hired her and she was desperate. Rent was accumulating and she didn't have any more free passes.
"Cass?" Bruce said with furrowed brows. She only texted so it was odd there was a call.
"Your building is about to explode at midnight! We found her hideout and we found the plans!" she yelled into the microphone causing his ears to ring.
"What? Tonight?! Where are you all headed?!"
"To your building, dumbass!" She hung up and sped up with the rest of them, hoping they would be there in time to help. As they got closer they saw the mob of people holding torches like they were townspeople about to burn the local witch.
"Fuck this is a lot more serious than what I thought!" Jason yelled in their comms. As they slowed down and came to a stop. They looked at the crowd and saw ahead of them all was her. She had scars across her body and one going right down the middle of her right eye. It seemed like her skin had been pulled back onto her body. She had decomposed so her bones were intact but it was only her skin that formulated into her being. As they neared closer to the crowd they needed a way in that wasn't with them.
"C'mon. Lets go around and swipe her," Drake said. Jason gripped his shoulder.
"It's not that easy... She looks to be surrounded. We're outgunned and outmanned. We need to blend in with them and surround her from the inside. Sounds good?"
"Since when did you become the new leader?" Drake asked, raising a brow.
"Since Dick doesn't want to help apparently," Jason grumbled angrily. As they threw off their costumes and disguised themselves with the crowd. Slowly they pushed their way to the front, making sure to not raise any suspicions. Then little by little news vans started to pull up. "What the fuck are they doing here?" he asks lowly into his comms.
"I have no clue," Steph says. They neared Camilla, slowly forming around her but not too close to her. As Jason was about to grab her all the lights came on at once. It blinded everyone within the crowd, having them cower. Jason took that opportunity to pierce her skin with an anecdote to sedate her quickly. As the team moved to cover her, they took her away from the crowd all the while Bruce made an entrance.
"Settle down people! I know what you're here to do!" he says as he looks beyond. "You're wondering where your help is. Gotham has grown and thrived but you are still here, the same. You haven't had any help and not one person has extended their arms to you. Well... I am here to tell you that it's over. I am hereby announcing my Inclusive Wayne Foundation. We weren't going to launch for another two months but it seems like there is no better time than the present!"
