EL SAT IN THE living room, everyone silently watching the back of her head as she faced the static shown TV, blindfold covering her eyes.
Jayden rolled her long sleeve over her left hand and clenched it tight, using her right to pick the skin on her lips. A sharp pain made her flinch.
Max stared at her, watching as she picked. She wondered if this was what she did. When the stress got too much, when she couldn't make those marks. She mustered up the courage and reached forward, grabbing Jayden's hand.
The Harrington girl looked over at Max, her eyes slightly hooded. "What?" She whispered. It came off more pissed-off than she had meant. The hunger was getting to her, she was becoming angry.
Max furrowed her eyebrows at Jayden's tone. "Don't pick your lips." She replied, reverting her eyes back to Eleven. Jayden sighed. That's when Eleven removed her blindfold and turned towards her friends .
"What's he doing now?" Vera asked, leaning over the couch.
"He's in his room." She said simply. "On his bed." Her mind seemed elsewhere. With that, El stood up, traveling to the kitchen.
"I should go check on her." Jayden whispered. Max nodded and reluctantly let go of her hand. Eleven was in the kitchen with a tired look. "You okay?" She asked as she got a glass for the girl and filled it up with water.
She handed El the water and sat herself on the counter next to Eleven who chugged it. "El... if it ever gets too much you can tell us. You know that right?" She whispered to the girl. "I know what it feels like when stress overflows. I don't want you to feel like that." Jayden took the glass from El, filling it up again.
