THE SILENCE WAS LOUD as the group watched Eleven sit in front of open freezers, trying to find Dustin. It had became apart of the daily routine.

Eleven sat down with a blindfold wrapped around her head with white noise in the background while everyone else watched, waiting.

The small sound of a soda can popping open made heads turn to Lucas who, for some reason, decided that now was the perfect time to drink a Coca-Cola.

Max side-eyed the boy. "Quiet." She ordered.

"Oh, sorry." He apologized, as if he didn't realize he was a disruption. Mike gave the boy a disgusted look as he took a long sip of the soda.

"How do you even drink that?" Mike asked.

Lucas swallowed, "Because it's delicious."

"Woah." Vera said, putting a hand out towards the Sinclair boy.

Lucas shrugged. "It's like Carpenter's The Thing. The original is a classic, no question about it. But the remake," He brought the can to his mouth and took another long sip, making a loud slurping sound. Vera cringed and scooted away from the boy. He smacked his lips, "Sweeter, bolder... better." He smiled. Jayden chuckled, shaking her head.

"You're insane." Mike said, sounding appalled.

Lucas tilted her head to the side, "So, you prefer the original Thing?"

"What? No, I'm not talking about The Thing, I'm talking about New Coke." Mike defended himself.

Lucas rolled his eyes, "It's the same concept, dude."

"Uh, actually, it's not the same concept."

"It is the same concept."

"No, it's not."
