Max, I swear on my life that that thing is definitely anything but a dog.
So a cat?
IT WAS THE NEXT day, the weekend. Jayden sat in the passenger seat of Steves car, counting the trees as they passed by.
"She's not gonna hate you." Her brother had told her everything about what had happened with Nancy Halloween night, she had apologized profusely for not being there but he said it was okay since he had came home when she had been going through worse.
"How do you know that?" He questioned, glancing over at his sister before quickly returning his eyes back to the road.
"Same way you know Max doesn't hate me." She replied, looking over at him.
Steve sighed and shook his head. "Smartass." He mumbled.
Jayden laughed as they came up on the Wheelers house. "Always." She smiled.
The car soon came to a stop and Steve took a large, stressed breath. "Here goes nothing..." He whispered, reaching into the backseat and grabbing the red-roses that sat there. He opened the door but stopped, not getting out. "Are you sure roses are the right flower? Do you think I should've gotten chocolate... maybe a teddybe—"
"Steve, go!" Jayden interrupted him, shoving him towards the open car door which was waiting for him to get out.
With that the girl looked down, fidgeting with
the bookmark that stuck out slightly from her book. The Hotel New Hampshire. Jayden had figured Steve was gonna be in there for a while, so she had brung a book. But when she had looked back up to see if Steve had gone inside of the Wheeler house. She instead saw Dustin talking to her brother. The curly headed boy then snatched the roses from Steves hands and began towards the car. He smiled at Jayden.
Jayden turned around, confused as Dustin opened the backseat car door. "Do you still have that bat?" Dustin asked.
Jaydens face morphed from confusion to concern."What do you need that for?!" She asked.
