Chapter 226 - The Guardian of The Underworld

The Curse power was surging around my body as it silver glow continued to grow and I can feel the change of the curse surging through me as I was glaring up at Nova. The power that was surging through me was surprising as it felt more powerful than it felt when I used it against the Servant back during the Elizabeth business and it felt even more controllable than before. It must be all that Demon particles I now have within me and how my changes were accelerated yet again, during my time inside that tank Nova had placed me in.

Nova, however still had her Black Delilah across her as it was unfolding around her like a flower. Considering that she had left her magic for me, then that must be her Curse power thought what it does isn't really something I knew but I do know that it was powerful enough to stop most of my magic attacks and even my Demon Slayer magic.

Nova only raised her hand again as the black things appeared around her again, balls made of darkness yet they were oddly shaped similar to flowers as they launched straight at my general direction and I used my curse to suddenly summons towers of bones all around me, blocking the attack that was coming straight at me as the bones surged through the ground, the dark balls not even reaching me.

I then raised my hand toward her direction summoning more power from my curse as large hands made out of bones appeared in the air as they aimed straight toward the woman who had a light frown upon her hands as she countered the attack with her own. I then surged forward moving with speed so that I could close the distance between us and get her in some clothes quarter combat, summoning RuneSave as I did so.

Armed with my blade, I yelled out as I slashed straight toward her form but she managed to do something that I didn't even think was possible. One of the black things around her hand was summoned and she blocked the blade of the sword. Her slit eyes stared into my own as she turned to face me and smacked a kick straight into my chest sending me backward and using my wings I stayed hovering in the air, feeling the powerful winds it created as dust were send flying away from where I was. Nova's take off was smoother as she came toward me with the black things around her hands, her own wings dancing as well as she was launched straight toward me with her own attacks.

I pared and blocked her attacks as the two of us dueled against each other in the air, our skills levels seemingly a match for each other but I was starting to struggle to keep up with her. her attacks were so damn fast that I knew if I wasn't a fully fledged Demon like I was now, I wouldn't be able to keep up with her at all and my Curse was just able to help me get ahead of the Curve before we separated from each other after both of our latest attack cancelled each others out.

"Such a shame you are a failure," Nova said as more darkness and black things surged around her form, "Your power would have been enough to gain you a seat beside Lord Zeref."

"Don't need it," I answered, "I already have everything I need with Fairy Tail."

Nova actually laughed at that.

"You can try to play Human as much as you like," she said, "But you will soon come to realize it, as every Demon realize, only by serving Lord Zeref's will that we can be fulfilled."

I frowned at her.

"Do you really believe that serving Zeref is the best way for you?" I asked, "You could have come and search for me...You could have done what you had the time you sacrificed yourself for me."
