letters to rena

fifty years after you died...

dear rena;

this is it. i get to see your face so very soon baby. the doctor's say it's old age. which i guess is a good thing because i really didn't want to suffer. i want my path to you to be smooth, and by the looks of it, that's how it's going to go. the doctor's told me to rest but i knew that i had to write to you before i did anything else.

i'm scared for the kids. i don't want them to go though the grief process like i did with you, but i think they'll be okay, i really do. rena is in the hospital room with me right now and i think she's doing okay. i told her that everything will be okay and that i'll party with you up there. if you're okay with that of course.

i honestly can't wait to see your beautiful face. it's been 50 years since i've seen you rena. that's insane to think about. of course i'll miss seth and rena, camden, shay, everyone; but i think it's better that i go. i've lived a great life here on earth, but having you by my side up there will make everything even better.

rena, my monitor is beeping really fast now.

i don't really understand what that means but rena rushed over and is holding my hand now, so i think it's time. seth and kasey just came in with shay and they're crying. i hate to see them so sad and it breaks my heart to see them like this, but i know that i'm ready. i'm ready to see you, and i'm ready to spend my after life experience with you. i can't wait to see my mom, and your dad and you. you the most though.

shay is tying this letter on the string of one of my balloons and she's going to let it go out the window of my hospital room so it reaches you. i hope it gets there before i show up.

i think this is the perfect time to say goodbye.
