Anaheim was back to normal in one month. My wounds have fully recovered. Only a few scars stay behind, calling them my 'souvenir'. Some people get tattoos, I get scars. Unfortunately, I still had to pay the ducks, which means I also had to continue my training at hockey. But this time, I had another tough opponent...Stanley Strazinski. He and Wild wing took over the practice, while the others just watched. Buzz became my number one fan, after Mallory mind. Even the relationship between me and the ducks was getting better by the day. At the end I had three big brothers, one little bro and two big sisters. Literally a big family. Anna had also supported me ever since we defeated Dragaunus. Wild wing told me that they haven't found any signs of the raptor, especially since it sank into the deep ocean.

A few days later, the ducks had their own game to play. Relieved, I followed Buzz to the seats we booked. Only to be stopped by Wild wing, who didn't wear his goalie outfit. "Eh you know you got only ten minutes till game starts." "I know" he said smiling, "but I am not the one late."

"Come again?"

Behind Wing, the rest of the group appeared, telling me to get ready.

"Why me?"

Wild wing took my hand and lead me to the changing room. There was a giant box, with a bow on top. "We made a deal, remember?"

I backed away scared, "You never said anything about taking your place!"

"I know, it was supposed to be a surprise."

"Well, it definitely surprised me. But wait a minute...this is an important game!"

Wild wing shrugged, "Exactly, it is a game. Don't worry; you trained hard enough to take my place." He handed me something that needs to go around my arm, "And you also proved what a great team captain you are."

"No way! I am not good at this."

"Too late, you are officially a mighty duck...and their team captain."

Not to waste anymore time, he helped me into the outfit and gear. Now I was ready to go. My legs were wobbling in fear, while the duck whispered into my ear, "I believe in you. Show us what you are made of."

"Apparently out of bones and flesh" I whimpered.

"No need to sound this excited", laughed Wild wing, pushing my body towards the ice rink.

And indeed, I did give my best. With Stanley as a referee, it stayed a fair game. Wild wing sat on my seat, cheering with Buzz at the team. Unlike their true captain, I couldn't hold two pucks. Thankfully, Dive and Duke covered for me. They demanded orders from their new team captain and did exactly what I say. Wild wing had showed me some moves before; otherwise I had no idea what to say. The game ended with a last minute shot from Grin, pushing the opponent's goalie through the net.

Wild wing couldn't wait to show how proud he was. His team squished me before he could. Once the stadium was empty, we all stood at the ice rink. I was pleased to see Wing and the others, but froze at the sight of Klegghorn. Quickly I rose up, my hands in defense, "I haven't done anything!"

"Oh yes you did..." he began, suppressing a smile, "...you kept your promise. You are now...free as a bird."

I stared at the Ducks, "Is this true? I am free now?"

Wild wing nodded, "This was the deal. You are free to go."

From behind someone pocked my back, causing me to yelp. It was Anna. "Nice one N/A. You were really good out there."

"Thank you Anna."

"I got something for you" she gave me a blank letter. Puzzled I inspected the inside and smiled, "Tickets for Minneapolis?!" Anna grinned wide, "Not only that. You got your old job back."

I didn't know if I should laugh or cry at that moment. All this time, i wished to get back home. Now I was leaving something behind...something that is very dear to me. The ducks assured that they will visit me as much as possible. I touched my necklace; the one Wild wing gave me, and began to cry happy tears, "I love you guys." My words caused to get into another bone-crushing group hug.

One year later, I returned back to Anaheim.

I announced that I was in a hockey team of my own. It is called the Albatross. My friends knew others that loved to play hockey and it all began to develop into a team. I showed my mask to Wild wing; it was flat but resembled his mask a little. Of course, i became the goalie of the Albatross. The ducks couldn't be more proud. "But how come we never heard of this before?" asked Mallory, referring to the television. "We are not that popular...yet." Nosedive was thrilled of the news, pulling me into a head-lock, "I can't wait to play against you N/A." You think I do?" I laughed.

No matter how far I am, how far I go. I can always rely on my family of ducks. If it wasn't for them, I live wouldn't have change for the better. This mighty change was the best that could ever happen to me.
