"Where am I?"
I looked around. One thing was for sure, it wasn't the office. The room was completely in white, with one bed and a night table. Only one thing made it clear that I was in a hospital, was the machines beside the bed. I thought of how I got here, remembering my first day at work...and the ducks. My head was still hurting badly and the thought of those animals didn't make it any better, so I closed my eyes again.
I didn't even hear the voices of people coming into the room. Wild wing, Anna and the doctor came in.
"How is she doctor?" asked wild wing concerned.
"She is a little exhausted, but nothing to fear, all she needs is rest."
Anna handed the Duck her hand, "Thank you for helping her Sir...eh..."
"Wild wing" he shook it.
"Thank you Wild wing for getting her to the hospital"
"No problem, I hope she gets well soon. I come back tomorrow to check on her. Good bye Miss Anna."
"Me too, see you later Sir."
I woke up, hearing the door close.
"Where...ah..."
"That is right N/A...go into the light."
"What????" I was wide awake now.
Anna laughed out loud, "She will be just fine."
I looked at her annoyed, "That is not funny!"
That's right; there was nothing to laugh at. I wasn't aware that this was going to be a disaster. Anna didn't tell me the news until I was fully recovered. That stupid lawyer fired me on the first day and on top of that, my hallucinations weren't any...these ducks really exist. Unfortunately, my main problem was the job issue. Anna assumed that I will find one soon at another place, which seems to be harder than expected. In one week I had looked around Anaheim for a suitable job, but nothing was there for me. Not even a simple cleaning job was available. This really put my friendship with Anna on a hard task. We started to argue more often, which drove us further apart. I didn't blame her, she had to pay the entire rent and I couldn't help her out.
At a Hockey arena, was a different atmosphere.
The crowd was cheering and the players were doing their best on the ice. The mighty ducks are giving their best to win the game. At the last second, Nosedive made the last goal. Wild wing forgot his promise to visit me at the hospital and feels bad about it. His friends noticed his mood.
"What's wrong Wild wing?" asked Mallory his team leader.
He looked at her sad, "I didn't visit the girl the next day. I don't even know how she is. I called the hospital, she is already out."
"I am sure she is fine wing", assured Duke his friend.
"I want to be sure of that..." he faced his manager, "Phil, have you been at the lawyer lately?"
He nodded, "Yes, but that girl was not there. He fired her on that day."
"Of exhaustion?! That wasn't her fault!" Mallory find this unfair. The other ducks agreed on that. Wild wing thought for a minute, before facing his team, "We should help her."
"Why should we?! It was not our fault and besides...she is a weird human" said Nosedive, not interested to help.
Tanya interrupted, "According to her friend, we are responsible for that. She thought she had lost her mind as she saw us."
"Are alien Ducks that strange to humans?"
"Yes nosedive, we are strangers to the human race and not everyone knows us. If you don't help, I will."
Everyone except Nosedive agreed on helping me out. Their leader thought for an idea, while his little brother left the group.
