As the twins sailed down the river, away from their friends, Emma couldn't help the tears which fell from her eyes. Noticing this, John B wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into his embrace.

The sky was getting darker as thunder rumbled above them and lightning was striking in the distance, in the direction they were headed.

"B, I think there's gonna be a storm" Emma said, pointing out the obvious when the radio started crackling

Weather advisory for Tropical Storm Danielle, expected to make landfall in the Outer Banks and surrounding areas within the hour. Wind speeds are 65 miles per hour...

Emma looked up, noticing someone running down a dock near them. She recognised the blonde hair almost immediately and hit her brother's shoulder, pointing in her direction

"John B!" Sarah shouted out to the boy

"Sa... Sarah!" He stammered, shocked to see the girl

"John B. Wait!" She yelled as she ran to the end of the dock

"Sarah!" The twins shouted in unison as John B directed the boat in her direction, starting to slow down.

Sarah gasped as she got to the end, catching her breath, "John B. Emma" She said in relief. He pulled the boat up right in front of the girl as Emma extended her hand to help her jump in. The two girls hugged as John B started talking

"Hey. What are you doing? I didn't think you were coming. You weren't at the dock" He questioned, still shocked by her appearance. Sarah slowly walked up to the boy, placing her hand on his face before wrapping her arms around his neck

"You were just gonna leave without saying goodbye?" She said, chuckling at the boy, causing him to lightly laugh as well as they kissed each other. Emma smiled at the pair before turning away, not really wanting to see the pair making out. "Don't ever leave me again" Sarah said against his lips before pulling him in again.

After a moment of the two kissing, Emma awkwardly cleared her throat

"Uh, I hate to break up this little reunion, but we really need to go" She said, causing the two to break apart. Sarah smiled sheepishly at the girl as John B turned to start the boat again. Emma just winked back at Sarah, a smirk on her face

"You two ready?" John B saud, pulling the boat away from the dock

"Hell yeah" They replied in unison, going to stand either side of the boy with smiles on their faces.

As the three headed into the sea, the storm clouds were only getting worse, causing it to become darker quicker than usual. The island had lost power once again, meaning the lighthouse was out of action.

They sat in the water, invisible to land, as they watched the police. They had set up 3 big tents and had at least 20 cop cars, plus 5 different news channels set up at the base of the lighthouse. They also had boats in the water searching for them

"It's like the entire sheriff's department" Sarah said as they watched them in fear.

"Holy shit" Emma mumbled just as thunder roared behind them

"We'll go dark and let the tide pull us out" John B said, turning off all electrics in the boat

They could see as an officer approached the waters edge. He held up a fancy pair of binoculars, scanning the water

"Shhh" John B shushed the girls as they all stayed quiet. They could see the officer looking directly at them, obviously having sensed something on the binoculars before the lightning struck.
