Devale Ellis
"You think she gone say yea?" I asked my close friend from college, Raymond.
"Nigga idk, im not Crystal." He stated, I laughed hitting his arm. "Yous a clown
man!""So how you finna ask, like romantic or casual?" I smiled thinking about it. "Alright listen."
"I know everything there is to know about Crystal, so ima get us a babysitter, and take Crys on a lil scavenger hunt."
"Ima have little card notes all around her house until she get to the backyard. You know she got that big ass backyard."
He nodded, her shit was huge. Especially because at such a young age she's accomplished so much.
She built her house from the ground up and exactly the way she wanted. "Ima set up a lil table, candlelit dinner."
"Ima cool for her because you know I throw down- Yea man why you never cook for me." We both laughed.
"Man shut up, anyways yea. Im gone buy her a black dress to wear with some Tom ford heels." He dapped me up.
"You doing it big my man, I like that." I thanked him, "How you and sis been?" I asked.
Raymond and Ari got married 6 years ago when they were 21, not they're both 27 and living their best lives.
My sis Ari got her own businesses and they all flourishing. She owns The Lavish Experience located in New York, Atlanta and Houston.
She sells clothes, does lashes, hair, nails and serves hookah and drinks on top of all that. She just out here doing it big.
Meanwhile my bro Ray one of the top surgeons in New York. He's been doing this for about 4 years and he's amazing at it.
I know if I ever needed surgery I'm going straight to him. "We good, you know I keep my lady happy."
"We just got back from Dubai a couple days ago." He mentioned, I smiled. "Y'all inspire me bro."
"That's good man, now gone head and get yo girl. I know you love her ass. Was searching for her from all them damn years."
After all that shit went down with Crystal and I, a year later I started trying to find her. She had me blocked on everything.
On top of that she changed her number, I searched on Facebook, instagram, her old school etc.
I knew she had gotten into NYU but after I taught that one year of HighSchool I was drafted.
I now play for the Lakers, I moved to LA and when I came back to New York on my off season I still couldn't find her.
I visited NYU to talk to some of the boys who were there for basketball, she was no where to be found.
And get this, I found her old roommate. Her name was Brielle. She told me that Crystal and her shared a dorm for their first semester.
Then second semester Crystal left and she said she didn't know where she went. So I felt defeated.
I left the next day and I tried to find her mothers house, I couldn't remember the address so I gave up.
I went back to LA and started looking for her through social media, I even tried to find Kayla but that girl is so low.
For years I searched for her until I got a invite from her mother, she invited all the teachers from the year Crys graduated.
I was invited for some reason, I jumped at the opportunity and told my coach a family member had passed.
When I got there I was talking with all the other teachers as the old HighSchoolers came up speaking every now and then.
Then finally Crystal arrived and she left as soon as she saw me. Instead of leaving I stayed around and gave her time.
Then finally I got her to meet with me, so it shouldn't be that hard to ask her on a date right?

"Okay thank you sis." I smiled, I kissed Dailani's cheek and she ran off into Deja's house.
She's my cousin on my fathers side, however growing up we were always so close so we referred to each other as sisters.
I walked over to my car before hopping inside, I started it up and connected my from to the aux.
I went through my playlist before deciding on the song Walk Away by Olivia.
You and I were supposed to go our separate ways
No matter how much I fight it, still I stay
I can't believe my conscious got the
best of me
It's telling me to let it go but I can't walk away
Ya sister called me bout a couple times
today
She knew I had to get
something off my mind right away
I gotta get a grip I think I'm
losing me
I don't know why I'm so confused, Ooo Yeah"I'm not tryna leave you believe me, cause what I'm going through it ain't easy easy no." I sung.
"But no matter how hard I try, I can't walk away I'm not tryna leave you, believe me
Cause what I'm going thru it ain't easy,"ain't easy nooo
Should I stay or should I go
But no matter how hard I try, I can't walk away
It's killing me, k-k-k-killing me to keep going on this way ooohh yea
I know I love you but I don't know if I'm in love with you"It breaks my heart to say We got too much work to do So I don't know why I hold on to you." I was thinking about me and Devale.
"It's gotta be some kinda way that we can work it out Or I just gotta get over you Babyy yeaaa yeaaa."
I pulled into my driveway, parked and then turned my car off. I made sure I had everything before getting out.
I walked up to my house, and noticed a note on the door. I was confused, 'Your eyes shine like stars, meet me at a place we call ours.'
"What the hell?" I couldn't help but be confused, "Ours? Who tf.. Devale." I immediately smiled.
I just remembered, Devale always tells me my eyes are like stars, he literally has me saved in his phone as Stary Eyes.
I opened the door which was unlocked, "Ours?" Hmm, what do we call ours. Like ours as in it belongs to both of us "Dailani!"
I squealed as I ran to her room, I opened the door and walked in. There was a black dress on the bed.
I smiled, I went to her bathroom and put on the dress. My hair and makeup was already done thank god.
As I was checking myself out I noticed another note. 'Dailani fills us both with joy, but do we want a baby boy.'
"Okay now you lost me." I sat on the chair that was placed outside Dai's room. It was her timeout chair.
"Baby boy, baby boy, BABYBOY!" I jumped up and ran to my room, I looked through my dvds until I found BabyBoy.
There was a pair of Tom Ford heels, I smiled and took off the pink heels I had on. I opened the case and there it was, the other note.
'One more not after this, go to one of our favorite hits.'
"Okay what is one song that Devale and I both love equally." I guessed it immediately, I went back downstairs.
I walked to patio, I went over to my karaoke mention and a phone was on it playing Tank - can't let it show.
There was another note attached, 'Turn Around.' I did a quick prayer before I turned around.
Tears filled my eyes when I spotted Devale standing there with a bouquet of roses and a candlelit dinner.
"Surprise!"
