"Hey, sorry I'm late. I got held up." I said to my sister as I finally arrived to the school. "It's okay, I just got here too.", she replied.

"Can you pass me the balloons?", she questioned me. "Thanks", she answered as I gave her the balloons.

"So what got you late?", she questioned me probably just curious. "This", I answered as I showed her my work. Happy birthday Caroline.

"You?", I asked my sister. " I was working with Alaric." She answered quickly.

"So I have something I need to tell you, and you're not gonna like it." Elena confessed to me. "What happened?" I questioned her confused.

"Jeremy's gonna be leaving town for a while. He'll be staying with family friends in Denver. Until Klaus thing blows over.", Elena answered me.

"Jeremy wouldn't just leave you to deal with Klaus on your own.", i fessed to her. "I know. I asked Damon to compel him.", she confessed to me.

"You what?" I hissed annoyed at my sister of why she did that. "I know Maya. But it's not safe for him here anymore. Leaving will give him a better life, the only reason I'm telling you is because I know that you also only want the best for him" she answered me.

"And I thought maybe you'd wanna say goodbye." She asked me, as I looked to see Jeremy.

"Denver?" I asked my brother as I approached him. "So were you going to say goodbye?" I questioned him as he just nodded to what I asked.

"I wasn't sure you cared.", he replied to me. " of course I care. I am your sister, I don't want you to leave town.", i fessed to him.

"I think this could be a good thing. At least until this Klaus stuff blows over. I think I could have a better life there." He told me. "That's what Elena said. It's exactly what she said." I said to myself.

"What do you mean?", my brother asked confused. "Nothing. I'm just sorry you have to go. That's all."

"Surprise!" Me, Matt and Bonnie yelled as Caroline finally came home. "Happy birthday", Matt says to Caroline.

"What are you guys doing here?",Caroline asked us. "Well, you blew off school and missed our work of our work of birthday art." I answered her.

"So change into Warmer clothes, we're going to the falls. S'mores, campfire", Bonnie adds. "Cake", I add with a smile on my face.

"Like when we were little.", Bonnie says. "Expect with tequila.", Matt jumps into the conversation.

"Thanks, guys. Really... I'm just not really feeling my birthday this year.", Caroline rejects us. "I'm sorry what?", Bonnie says.

"You calamine's your birthday as everyone's favorite day." Bonnie adds. "Yeah, and now it's just a reminder that technically I'm dead", Caroline hisses.

"Look, I didn't even like 17. The only point to 17 was to get 18. It's a filler year. I am stuck in a filler year.",Caroline complained.

"You're not stuck, Caroline.", I replied to her. "Yes, I am. But it's okay. You know. It's all good. I will be fine. But I just need some time to wallow in it."

"Okay. Well I think I have another idea. ", I added.

"Technically she's dead. Sorry. But you don't need a birthday. You need a funeral, you need to say goodbye to your old life.", my sister spoke.

"So that you can move on with your new one.", Elena added. "Okay. Here lies Caroline Forbes.", Caroline spoke.

"Cheerleader, miss Mystic Falls. Third Grade Hopscotch champion." I replied after my sister. "Friend, daughter, over-achiever.", Bonnie continued.

"Mean girl sometimes, no offense.", Matt says laughing as we all do. "Non taken." Caroline answered.

"She was 17 and she had a really good life. So rear in peace. So that you can move forward. It's what you really need, it's what we all need." I replied pulling out a cake.

"Amen, or cheers. Or whatever.", I added as Matt pulled the alcohol.

"Bonnie?", Caroline requested as Bonnie lights up by using her magic. "Nice. Okay, make a wish", I say.

"Give me.", Matt says grabbing the alcohol out of my hand. "I need it more than you do. Trust me", my sister says grabbing it out of Matt's hands.

"Caroline what are you doing?", I asked her as she was on her phone. "Nothing.", she answered innocently.

"Okay. You're a bad sober liar. You're even worse drunk liar.", I replied to her. "I might have texted Tyler", she let out.

"Caroline.", my sister says. "What? I'm delicate.", she answered. "Give her a break. You can't control what everyone does all the time.", I let out.

"Ouch , Maya. Matt replied. "I'm sorry. I know it's Caroline's birthday. Funeral or whatever. But I just feel it's really wrong that you compelled Jeremy to leave town.", I spoke to my sister.

"I'm doing this to protect him, Maya. I wanna give him a change at a halfway normal life.", Maya replied to me. " he should be able to choose how he wants to live. You're taking choices away."

"Maya you can't tell him.", Elena hisses at me. "Why? You gonna compel me not to?".

"You know, you guys are ruining a perfectly good funeral.", Matt cuts in. "I'm sorry. I'm just gonna go sleep it off or something. Happy birthday", Bonnie adds in.

" I didn't mean to crash the party.", Tyler breaks in. "So don't.", I hiss at Tyler. "No, it's... it's okay. Hi.", Caroline replied calmly to him.

"Can I talk to you for a sec? It's kind of important", Tyler say's pointing to me.

"I take it all back, what i said to you was wrong , I will fight for you!." Tyler tells me. "Tyler. We can't, this is wrong. We were great, I loved you. We just have to accept it and move on.", I replied to him, my heart belonged to Caroline now.

"I'm not moving on from anything. I love you.", he answered me. "What?", I replied as he went in for a kiss. I kissed back, we made a bit out, he went for my neck. As he bit me.

"What the hell?", I asked him as I touched it, I saw blood on my fingers. "What just happened?", i questioned him.

"Oh, no."

"Did you? Did you just bite me?", i hissed at Tyler. "Oh, my god." He answered. "I'm sorry." Tyler added.

"Oh, no. Maya? Maya just—", Tyler tried come closer to me. "Just get away from me! Get away from me!" I yelled to him.
