"Sheriff Forbes!", Matt yelled as he carried my body to Liz, she was one of the grown I considered a parent figure for me.

"What happened?", she ran to Matt confused. "Tyler bit her.", Matt yelled coming into the house. "Sweetheart, careful. Careful.", Liz answered as they all carried me to my bed, Caroline fallowing after them.

"Maya. Honey, can you hear me?", Liz tried talking to me. "I'm sorry Caroline.", I told her feeling guilty.

"She's been hallucinating, no one's picking up their phone.",Matt talks. "It's all right. Sweetheart.".

"Are you going to kill me?", i questioned him as I saw who it was. "God no. You really think that low of me?", Klaus answered sounding hurt.

"Yes."

"That looks bad. My apologies. You're what's known as collateral damage. Nothing personal." Klaus continued to speak. " I love birthdays", he speaks out.

"Yeah. Aren't you like, a billion or something?", I answered him. "You have to adjust your perception of time when you become a vampire. Celebrate the fact that you're no longer bound by tribal human conventions".

"You're free.",Klaus added. "No. I'm dying.", I answered knowing I was dying, it was weird though I was human, I was bit of a hybrid slash werewolf. Only vampire would die.

"And I could let you, die. If that's what you really want. If you really believe your existence has no meaning. I thought about it myself, once or twice, over the centuries... truth be told."

"But I'll let you in on a little secret. There's a whole world out there waiting for you. Great cities and art... and music.", he told me coming closer to me.

"Genuine beauty. And you can have all of it. You can have multiple more birthdays, all you have to do is ask." He adds.

"I don't want to die. ", I answered as he lifted me into his arms. He bit his arm as he gave me some blood, it wasn't good. But I guess that's what's curing me.

"You're not gonna jump, are you?", Matt said as he finally arrived. "Thanks for coming. I was just thinking about what you said. About us being stuck.", I answered.

"I was buzzed, Maya. I can't be held responsible for being judgmental.", Matt replied to me. "I do feel stuck, Matt."

"I feel like... I'm holding into the girl who was supposed to die here with her parents. The girl that had a normal life and didn't kiss others boyfriends.", I spoke.

"You're not that girl anymore. It's okay if you want her to let go.", Matt continued. "Is it? Because I feel like I've disappointed her a little. Like... like I've disappointed them. My parents.", I told him.

"My two cents... as a guy who knew that other girl... you're doing a lot better than you think." , Matt replied to me as he picked up some flowers.

"Here lies Maya Gilbert. A fun girlfriend and an amazing friend." Matt says as he throws the flowers into the water.

"Oh hey, sorry. I'm gonna go." I said when I walked into my house seeing Alaric kissing Meredith in the living room. "Maya. I am s— I'm sorry.", He began to speak.

"Please? It's okay.", I let out a laugh. "No it's not okay. I mean, it's not even my place. It's your place, it's Jenna's place. It's your family's place.", Alaric said to me.

"The minute you slept on that couch it became your place too. We needed you and... and you stayed. So thank you for that.", I answered.

"Hey, look, I know it's hard. But Jenna's gone. And you're allowed to move on."

"So did you heard back from Tyler yet?", i questioned her curios. "No. And I've left messages for him everywhere."; Caroline answered me.

"So does Alaric really think that Dr. Fell did it?", Caroline questioned me. "He doesn't know what to think."

"What about you?", she asked me. "I wish the girl Alaric liked wasn't in the middle of all this. He deserves to be happy. But yeah. She looks guilty, that's why I told your mom.", I explained to Caroline.

"My mom's in there sitting with my dad. And I don't think they've been in the same room this long since I was 10 years old."

"Is there any change that Tyler did it?", Caroline asked me. "What?", i questioned her confused. "If Klaus was trying to mess with you and he's sired to Klaus and. I mean, he does everything that he's told.", Caroline explained.

"No. No, I don't think Tyler did it.", I answered. "I can't just let my father die. You know I'm gonna force him to feed.", Caroline spoke. "Hey. He doesn't want to, Caroline.", I told her.

"The only thing your dad has is his choice.", I added. " I hate him so much for what he did to me. So much. Now all I wanna do is save his life.", she answered me.

"Of course you do. He's your dad.", I replied to her. "What was the hardest part for you?", she asked me. "When you lost your dad?."

"Realizing all the things that he wouldn't be there for. The things that you just need your dad for, you know?." I told her.

"Come here.", I said to her jumping closer to her, giving her a hug. "Hey Maya can I ask you something?" Caroline questioned me.

"What did Tyler wanna talk to you about?", she asked me curious. "Oh it was nothing, just some weird things, and I said no, Klaus told him if I said no or whatever he was gonna bite me." I lied to her, I knew i really should tell her but I can't.

"What about when you said you were sorry when you almost died.", she asked, I felt so guilty, maybe the best is just to tell her?. "I am sorry care, I wasn't in my right mind.", I explained slowly.

"What do you mean Maya?", she replied as I saw her getting more tense. "We had sex a couple months ago and he kissed me..." I spoke looking down not being able to even look at her.

"What?", I heard her speak as her voice broke. "I am truly sorry Care , i don't even know why I did it. I am a horrible friend", I answered her folding my head in my hands.

"What did he say to you then?", she questioned me. "That he loved me...", I answered while I felt I was soon breaking down.

"It's okay Maya, it's Klaus. I know it, I know if he was my ex and especially if it was my first love, the one I loved first. I knew it would have happened too. I am sure it's Klaus, he's messing with us", Caroline answered taking her arm around me.

"What? Aren't you mad?" , I asked surprised. "No, you're my best friend.", she answered me kissing my head. I knew that it was Tyler, I could see it. I could feel it, but I didn't say anything.
