The mysterious brother

Me and Elena knocked on Stefan's house as she had made me go with her , I didn't want to because I didn't wanna ruin their moment but Elena dragged me out here.
"there is like no one here.", I said to her, as the door was slightly open so I opened it more.
"Maya!."my sister said sharply to me considering I was opening the door.

"what? The door was open." I replied excusing myself.
"Stefan?."Elena asked loudly to get his attention or to see if anyone was home.

"Stefan?."she asked again as we walked longer into the house."you sure he lives here?." I asked since nobody was home.

We looked around quietly but no one was home, not a single sound , not a single human.
The door opened even more , probably just some wind or something.
Elena walked closer to it.

After like maybe 5 seconds? A bird came flying inside, what the fuck!, I got scared and as I turned around someone was right in front of me.
I just looked confused at him, had never seen this guy in my life.
"I'm sorry for barging in the door was...."I said stressed as I turned around and the door was locked.
"open."I said slowly after.

"you must be Maya and you Elena."the guy said as he looked over at my sister who was just standing there not saying a word."I'm Damon, Stefan's brother." he said as he still was standing in front of me but was talking to my sister.

"he didn't tell me he had a brother."she said surprised."well, Stefan's not the one to brag please come." Damon said as he showed us the house.

"I'm sure Stefan will be along any second."he said as we went into the living room, it was big."wow, is this your living room?."I asked as I looked around.

"living room, parlor, Sotheby's auction, it's a little kitschy for my taste." he said to me."I see why my brother's so smitten Elena, it's about time. I never thought he'd get over the last one. Nearly destroyed him." Damon said to my sister as I saw my sister look change.

"the last one?."
"yeah, Katherine. His girlfriend?." he said to her and Elena just gave him an awkward look."oh, you two haven't had the awkward exes conversation yet."he said awkwardly.

"nope", she said.

"well, I'm sure it'll come up now or maybe he didn't want you to think he was in the rebound."he said
and Elena didn't answer and just nodded awkwardly.

"we all know how those relationships end.". "you say it like every relationship is doomed to end", I said as my sister was too stunned to speak or something.

"I'm a fatalist."he said as a little smirk came on his face."hello Stefan.", he said without even looking.
"Elena."he said and by the look of his face he didn't look so happy to see us.

"I didn't know you were coming over", he said from where he stood."I know. I should have called—."Elena went as she walked closer to Stefan.

"don't be silly you're welcome anytime isn't she, Stefan?." his brother said but Stefan didn't answer.
"I should break out the family photo albums or some home movies." he said to Elena.

"but I have to warn you, he wasn't always such a looker." he said as he stared into Elena's soul, with that smirk on his face."thanks you for stopping by,Elena it was nice to see you." he said.

"yeah, we should probably go, it was nice to meet you Damon." my sister said before she left."great meeting you, Maya.", he said to me right as I was about to fallow after my sister.
"yeah... you too Damon.", I said nervously.

"he's on the rebound and has raging family issues." my sister said to me as we were just having some girls talk at the kitchen."at least it's an ex-girlfriend, wait til you date a guy with mommy issues or cheating issues. Or amphetamine issues ." I said to my sister talking from experience.
