Tommy thought back to their conversation to see if she had said anything wrong, but remembered nothing.
She had thought that they had gotten over his hot and cold act and were trying to be friends, but she figured she was wrong.
She sighed, letting it go as she cleaned the kitchen and went to her room. She brushed her teeth and changed into an oversized T shirt that was a little thin due to being worn so much. She didn't put on a bra or pants, wanted to be comfortable.
Just as she climbed into bed, Tommy remembered she had homework left to do and groaned. Tomorrow was school and though her grades were better, she couldn't afford to miss assignments.
"Fuck." She cried as she flopped dramatically on her bed. It was late, almost ten o'clock and she was so ready to go to bed.
After a minute of debating, she dragged herself out of the comfort of her bed and went to her desk. She opened her laptop and pulled out her work book from her backpack the laid next to her desk.
As she scrolled through the assignment to see which was the easiest, her phone rang. Mama A's name popped up on the screen as Tommy grabbed the phone and pressed answer.
"Hello?" Tommy spoke into the phone as she pressed it against her ear.
"Hey sweetie! Sorry to call so late but Beak Hyeon isn't answering his phone." She huffed through the phone. "I swear that boy will be the death of me!"
"I hope you two are alright! We are on our way back now." Mama A said cheerfully making Tommy smile.
"Yeah, we are fine. How's dad and Von?" She asked.
"They are both fine, though your father is a devastated about the car. It was towed but we are having it shipped back him to see if it can be fixed." Mama A turned to see the frustration on Papa's face as she whispered in the phone.
"That thing is ancient, it'll take a miracle to fix it." Tommy laughed.
"Tell your father that." Mama A laughed. "See you soon dear. It'll take us a few hours though."
"That's fine. Take your time and please be safe!" Tommy assured.
Mama A's heart warmed at Tommy's consideration, uttering one more goodbye before hanging up.
Tommy went back to her assignments. It took her half an hour to rein in her focus enough to finish half the assignments. By midnight she only had one assignment left and it was by far the most difficult.
Algebra had gotten hard in the months since Beckham had helped her study. Nothing made sense even when she watched a video explaining the process of solving the equations.
She slammed the book closed and groaned.
"I'm just gonna fail. Summer school ain't that bad, right?" She spoke aloud to no one.
The room was filled with silence, giving Tommy a moment of peace before she tried to force herself to work out the problems. As she failed to answer another question right, a thought popped into her head.
Beckham could have some notes on how to solve these. He may not be in algebra right now, but she knew for a fact that he kept all his notes in a box in his room for Hugo. The younger boy wanted to know as much as his brother so he'd study Beckham's notes.
