Have you ever traveled a long distance in a car?

Well, most of us have.

Car travel is one of the more, if not, the most popular way to travel after all.

But, what if on a trip, you decide to take a pit stop because your car just won't go any further without gas.

And while your there, you decide to refuel and resupply, so you enter a nearby tavern near your car.

Well, no need to imagine, because this story, will tell you one of the many outcomes of this scenario.

This is the tale of..

The Shopkeeper.

The sound of the midnight radio filled my mind, along with the sound of my car driving across the lone, darkened dirt road.

The lights coming from my car were the only thing keeping me from crashing my car, it was truly pitch black outside.

I caught myself dozing off several times during the drive, though I kept my eyes open,I was trying to concentrate on the dark road and get home as fast as possible.

I felt a sigh escape from my mouth, I was tired from driving around all day, all I wanted was to just lay down and relax.

Though, a sound interuppted my thoughts, I looked over to my fuel level tracker, yes I don't know the name of it..

It was, terrifyingly low.

I immediately went into a panic like state, I started driving faster, urgently looking for somewhere to stop and refuel.

After About a whole 5 minute, I saw the light of a lone wooden tavern in the distance, it had a empty parking lot also, which was another plus for me.

Overjoyed by the sight, I immediately pulled into the tavern, making sure to make as little noise as possible, not to drive any attention to myself.

I then got out of my car, slowly closing the door behind me.

I walked to the trunk of the car and opened it, revealing two full gasoline tanks.

I grabbed one of them and walked over to my car filler port and opened the port lid, I then started filling up my car with the gasoline.

As I filled it, I started to realize how long it would take me to get back home.

It would take me approximately a hour to get back, so by the time I got back, it would be 1am.

I sighed heavily, also realizing I haven't ate anything all day.

Though, as my hopes started to disappear, I realized what I was right next to, a tavern.

Usually I wouldn't go to taverns but, this was a pretty desperate time for me.

Plus not like anyone would know since I was seemingly the only one there.

I finished fueling up my car, I placed the gas tank back into my trunk and closed it.

I then locked the doors using my key and walked over to the tavern doors.

I stood there for a hot second, debating if I should open the door or not. Due to me seeing someone inside the tavern and my anti social ness kicking in.

I simply just held my breath and walked In, trying to look casually.

Though as I walked in I realized the person was the Shopkeeper, due to the tag on their brown jacket saying so.
