"How was skiing?"
Alva asks as she makes the hot chocolate I had ordered. At the mention of yesterday my cheeks immediately heat up, heart beating that little bit faster as I remember what it was like to feel him on me.
His body kept me warm, lips soft, gentle, pressing. It was something else, I felt, I couldn't even explain it. The only thing I was able to distinguish was that it was right, it felt right, like I was exactly where I was supposed to be in that moment.
Laying in the snow, protected by the trees, protected by him. Quinn.
"Bethany?"
"Hmm" I blink gently clearing my throat as I realise I had once again been day dreaming about it. Quinn caught me this morning at breakfast just watching him, my mind stuck replaying the feel of him, the smell of him... the touch.
"I'm okay." I squeak.
Alva laughs pressing down onto the lid of the takeaway cup before handing it over to me. I take it gratefully knowing that it was going to unthaw my frozen fingers. "I have to head back now before Quinn starts getting grumpy."
She nods, eyes moving towards the window where you can see the outline of Quinn's black puffer coat. "Why didn't he just come in?"
"Because he is an idiot who likes to get cold." I mutter pulling my eyes away from his form. Facing Alva I continue, "I was happy to come into town by myself but after what happened last time..." I trail off.
"Of course." She nods.
"So yes... but anyway I'll see you soon?" I question gently tapping the counter once before taking a step away.
"Tomorrow! Adolf is taking me and we can't wait to see you both." She squeals, eyes lighting up as she mentions Adolf's name.
I giggle shaking my head, "See you tomorrow Alva." And then I turn heading for the door. Moving to let some people come in I breathe in the fresh air as I step outside. My eyes automatically find Quinn's as he stands up from leaning against the glass window. His eyes skim over my face as we watch each other for a second.
"You okay?" His gruff voice asks.
I nod, gesturing towards the alleyway in an attempt to get us to leave. Although the town was bustling like always the only thing I wanted to do right now was get warm and have some quiet time, maybe call my parents. We start walking in silence, his hand guiding me every so often as to which way to turn.
