Chapter 34: Big news (flashback)

October 1998:

Jordan and I have been married now for five years, five amazing years. Jordan and I have been talking about trying for a baby.

"Crystal, I think it is the right time. I am no longer traveling with the band we broke up years ago. We own our home and Jon has been helping us remodel our home. It is nice and with all the additions it is huge. So, we have plenty of space and we have plenty of time. We have plenty of money to live on with all my earnings from being with the New Kids."

"I know Jordan, I just want to make sure you are really ready to start our family. Our house is beautiful and yes we have way too much room. I don't know how many kids you think we are having but this mansion you have built us seems like you want a bunch."

"I will be happy with at least two and I made the house big enough for our kids and guests. If you want more than two then we can discuss it but I at least want two so our first has someone to play with."

"Okay, Jordan I will not take my birth control shot next week. We will start trying for a baby. I love you and I can't wait to see a baby who is half of each of us. Someone created from our love. I would love to have one of each but will be happy no matter what."

"I love you too, Crystal, and I can't wait to have a baby with you. Maybe now our moms will stop asking us when are we going to start a family."

"Well, we aren't going to tell them we are trying we will only tell them when I get pregnant. If I get pregnant, what if something is wrong with me and I can't give you a baby?"

"Baby, don't even think like that. There is nothing wrong with you. I have been doing some research and it can take us longer than normal because you have been on birth control for so long. Look it will happen when it happens when it's the right time. Okay, don't tell the moms that we are going to be making love like crazy, or at least until you are pregnant."

"What are you talking about we make love almost every night anyway. Isn't it great that we have been married for five years and still can't get enough of one another? We are still in that honeymoon phase, I figured it would have worn off by now but it hasn't and I love that we are still madly in love with each other."

"I have to agree with you on that one. Five years we have been married and we have been making love for six years and I still can't get enough of you. Every day my love for you grows, I love you more today than I did yesterday, and I will love you more tomorrow than I do today."

Crystal smiled at him and laid her head on his shoulder. She hugged him so tight she knew she could never get enough of him and she knew she would always be in love with him. 

Ten weeks later:

Crystal had been really tired and sleeping a lot. She and Jordan had prepared Christmas dinner and she had barely made it through the meal.

"Crystal, are you okay? You look like you haven't been sleeping. You didn't eat much for dinner and you look really pale," Loretta asked.

"I'm okay mom, I'm just really tired all the time. I just don't have much of an appetite. I may be getting sick."

"Crystal, how long has this been going on?" Sharon asked.

"I don't know a couple of weeks maybe. How long would you say Jordan?"

"I would say about two or three weeks. I thought she was just exhausted. Do you think something could be wrong, Sharon?"

"Not wrong really or at least I don't think it's bad, but I think I know what is wrong with her. Crystal come here I want to ask you something personal?"

Crystal leaned over and shook her head, then it hit her. Jordan and everyone else at the table was looking at them curiously.

Crystal grabbed Jordan's hand and jumped up. They started to run out of the room and she stopped. "We will be right back, continue enjoying your dinner." Then she took off again. 

Jordan was being pulled behind her, "baby, what is going on? What did Sharon ask you?"

"Jordan, we might be pregnant. Sharon asked me if I was still on birth control. So, we are going to take a test and see if that is why I am so tired."

Jordan looked shocked for a minute then a huge smile crept across his sexy lips. He hugged her, "oh my goodness this is great. Why didn't we think about that?"

Crystal peed in a disposable cup and dipped the stick in it and they both stood there holding each other tight. Jordan's watch beeped with the alarm he set. He raised his head up and looked deep into her eyes.

"No matter what it says, I love you with all my heart, baby. Are you ready to find out if we are pregnant?"

"Yes, I am and I love you too Jordan. Okay, you read it because I am too nervous."

Jordan grabbed the box and picked the test up. Two pink lines appeared and he smiled. "We are pregnant, Crystal it's positive." He lifted her up and kissed her. "We are going to have a baby." He sat her back down and touched her stomach. "Hey, baby I'm your daddy and you are going to have the best and most beautiful mommy ever." Crystal laid her hand on his as their eyes met. They both had tears in their eyes.

"I love you so much, now I guess we should get back to our guests. We have to tell them because they are all going to ask us why we ran off and were gone so long."

"I love you so much, my love, and yea we are." They both walked back to their dining room and everyone stopped and looked at them. 

"Okay, I know you are all wondering why we ran off, and well we have some news. Some great news actually. Crystal and I are."

"Going to have a baby, we are pregnant." They both said in unison.

Everyone started yelling and running up to hug them. They were both smiling they were so happy. 

"So, were you trying for a baby?" Loretta and Marlene both asked.

"Yes, we were we stopped using birth control two months ago. We just weren't expecting it to happen so quickly. We thought with being on birth control for so many years that it would take us a little while but no matter what we are so happy." Jordan said as he was looking at Crystal. She had her hand on her stomach. 

"That's so great we can't wait to meet the new bundle of joy. Congratulations and Crystal make sure you get plenty of rest," Loretta said. 

"Yes, listen to your mom the first trimester is always the hardest. Congratulations kids we have been waiting a long time to hear this news."

Six months later:

Crystal is huge and she is in the nesting stage now. She keeps rearranging the nursery and washing the clothes. She has cleaned the entire house so many times. I keep trying to get her to sit down and relax but she refuses.

She is seven months and one week along. We are having a boy and I can't wait to meet our son. We have decided on his name but we are keeping it a secret until he is born. 

Crystal is so beautiful she is glowing and she is just stunning. I am even more in love with her as I am watching her grow our child inside of her is amazing and so beautiful. 

Her sex drive has been up so much that we have been making love several times a day. I am afraid of hurting the baby but we spoke to the doctor and he said it was fine. We could make love until the day she delivered then she wouldn't be cleared for six weeks.

We have eleven weeks left she is twenty-nine weeks. Our son is due on September 7th. We have her baby shower in about three weeks. I look over and she has finally settled down and is taking a nap. I walk over and lay a blanket over her and kiss her cheek.
