Chapter 52: We are grandparents

The days and weeks have flown by. Sarah and Dante moved in last week and Eric and Selena moved in yesterday. So now our house is no longer just us as our family has grown from two, to four, to six, and soon to be eight when the babies arrive.

Crystal and Jordan helped Eric and Dante fix up the nurseries in their homes. Crystal is getting so excited to meet her grandbabies Jordan is still having a hard time coping with the fact he is going to be a grandfather to two very soon.

Jordan is still very young at heart and thinks when he becomes a papaw he will get old. I joke with him about it by telling him the gray hairs are taking over his head. He will run into the bathroom and look in the mirror. 

It's so funny I love him to death but he is struggling with this. I know he is going to love the babies but it will take time for him to adjust. I know the minute he meets his grandson and granddaughter that he will be so happy and so in love.

Sarah's due date is fast approaching she is due in two weeks and we are having her shower here tomorrow. Selena is three weeks away and we are having her shower on Saturday. I wanted them each to have their own day for them everyone tried to get me to do one shower for both but Marlene agreed they deserved their own shower.

Jordan and I bought them a crib and changing table, some diapers, some wipes, some clothes, and several blankets. 

I am cooking and fixing all the platters for both of their showers. We are having virgin cocktails since the guests of honors can't drink. I have rented tables and chairs and we are going to have the party in the living room and eat in the sitting room. 

The guys moved all the furniture yesterday for us and we will just leave everything until after Saturday. Jenny, Chance, and Barrett are flying in for the baby shower.

A lot of stuff went down with Andi after the cruise, she no longer works for Danny, fans are pressing charges against her, and Danny has been offline since. We called and checked on him when the news broke. 

Andi and I became very close after the mixtape tour before the Pandemic but if you hurt one of my friends you are hurting me and she hurt my brother so for that I can never forgive her. She texted me and called so I blocked her number. 

We tried to get Danny to come but he said right now he has so much going on that he can't just leave so we will ask Chance how he is really doing and we may fly down to Miami after the babies are born to see him. Maybe Jordan can go down right after both babies are born and check on him. 

I will be needed here to help Sarah and Selena when the babies are firstborn. We still have a couple of weeks maybe he can fly back with Chance for a day and come back. I don't know we will have to discuss it we just want to make sure our brother is holding up okay.

Today is Sarah's baby shower. I have been up since nine cooking pigs in a blanket, barbeque smokies, making finger sandwiches, I made chicken dip, I made some sausage balls, I made ranch and french onion chip dips, and we have ten bags of chips for both showers.

I cut some fresh fruits, oranges, tangerines, apples, bananas, strawberries, and grapes. We have caramel sauce, whip cream, and yogurt for dipping. I made some pies, cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for dessert.  

Jordan is helping me with the food, he has been a huge help, we got everything set up, and went to get changed for the shower guests would start arriving soon. 

Crystal put on a baby blue dress with silver flats and Jordan put on a pair of khaki dress pants with a blue polo shirt and a pair of Nike tennis shoes. 

Dante, Sarah, Chance, Eric, and Selena came downstairs. Eric has been working at Novara as a server. He makes great tips and Selena worked there until she hit month six as a bartender. That way they could save up money and since we are part owners they would have a more flexible schedule.
