One month later:

Well, the holidays are right around the corner. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and we will be going to the farm. I love the holidays with Jordan's family they always come together even Allan and his wife come over.

My mom joins us the entire Knight and Putnam family have adopted her. They all love my mom and me. My boys are very lucky to have such a wonderful family.

I am baking some pies, potato salad, and deviled eggs, and Jordan is making the ham and a turkey. Their family is so big we normally have three hams and three turkeys. I have three big bowls of potato salad and ten trays of deviled eggs.

I am going to run the trays and bowls over in about an hour. I have three pies to take and two more to cook.

Later that day she loaded up all the food in boxes and kissed her husband then left for his family's house.

When she arrived Jon and Harley were walking out. "Hey, sis you dropping some food off?"

"Yes, I am Jon." She walked over and hugged him.

"Alright, let's put them in the fridge out here in the building. That way you don't have to take them out of the boxes and the pies we can take into moms."

"Sounds great." Harley and Jon took the deviled eggs and potato salad to the fridge and Crystal took the pies to Marlene's. She knocked and opened the door.

"Marlene," she said as she walked in slowly.

"Hey, Crystal come on in sweetie. Sorry I was in the kitchen trying to get some stuff fixed for tomorrow. How are you doing hun?"

"I am good, mom. How are you doing? Do you need me to stay and help for a little bit?"

"Just tired, I don't think I have recuperated from the cruise yet. No, darling, you have done plenty I know Jordan has told me everything you have cooked for the last few days."

"Look, I enjoy getting to do this for our family and I am going to call Jordan and tell him I am going to help you for a little bit. What are we cooking?"

She grabbed her cell phone and dialed Jordan's number and it rang twice before he answered, "hey sweetie, is everything okay?"

"Yes, babe everything is fine. I just wanted to let you know I am going to stay over here at your mom's and help her cook for a bit."

"Okay, baby that's fine. Is she okay?"

"Yea, she is fine she just looks a little tired. I offered to help her cook and she said no but I don't care I am going to help her I just wanted to call and let you know I will be home in a couple of hours."

"Okay, baby that's fine. Do you need me to come help too?"

"No, sweetheart. We need to start doing everything she should be able to just relax. I know we took the biggest stress off her but we all need to take all of it off her next year."

"Okay, I will talk to everyone to ensure next year we do it all. I love how well you look out for mom, she loves you, Crystal."

"Well, I love her too and I always will. I will see you in a little bit, I love you, bye babe."

"I know, I will see you soon, have fun, and I love you too, bye sweetheart."

Marlene was standing there listening to Crystal and Jordan talk. She smiled because Crystal could see she was worn out and she was worried about her. She hated the fact that she wasn't able to cook anymore but it really was too much for her now.

Crystal walked into the kitchen, "alright, mama let's get to cooking."

"Here is an apron, dear. I am working on the stuffing. I figured I would cook it today and then just reheat it tomorrow and I have the dough rising for homemade rolls, and sweet potatoes."
