four days later

IN DICK'S ABSENCE, HE LEFT GAR IN CHARGE of the Tower. He was also responsible for Conner when the boy eventually woke up. He was more than excited until he realized how absolutely boring being alone was. Since Paige hardly ever left her room since Dick had left, the boy had no one to talk to but himself.

That was until day four of his loneliness that Conner Kent, the clone that was created with Lex Luthor and Superman's DNA, woke up giving Gar some desperately needed company.

"So we pretty much have the entire place to ourselves, until the others get back, that is," Gar explained as he poured Conner the largest bowl of cereal he had ever seen.

"How did I get here?" The black-haired boy, who had closer features to his superhero father, asked curiously.

"Wait, you don't remember anything?"

"Just little bits and pieces. I remember feeling really sick, and hearing a lot of voices, and then it was like I was on fire, and then...is Eve here?"

"She was," Gar said, remembering the woman who dedicated her life to science to help create Conner. "She helped you get better. Well, it was her and Kory and Rachel."

"What is this place?"

A sly smirk curled up on the green-haired boy's face before he proudly said, "Titans Tower." Conner simply stared back at him not understanding what he was talking about. "Yeah, I guess that might sound a little weird with no context."

As the boy went back to eating his cereal, Gar explained to him who the Titans were and what it was exactly that they did. "Like you, basically. Heroes. I mean, you're Superman's son, right?"

"And Lex Luthor's."

"Yeah, well, no one's perfect," he mentioned before continuing to explain. "You saved our friend Jason Todd. He was falling from a building and you caught him."

"And then I got shot."

"But then the Titans saved you, and they brought you back here. That's what we do. We all have powers and special abilities. We chose to help people."

"Eve said it's okay for me to help people. I remember that."

"Look, the important thing is you're awake now, which is good, because I was on the verge of losing my mind," the boy said as his eyes landed on a note that he had written for himself about what to do when Conner woke up. "Uh, give me one minute. There's someone I gotta call."

Gar had given Conner a tour of the place. They had reached the training room where the boy had spent the majority of his time in. "So where is everyone? I mean, the Titans?" Conner asked curiously. "Who else lives here?"

"Just me. Well, no, not really, Paige does too, put she never leaves her room."

"Why?"

"When we all went on a break, I guess it was hard for her. So, I haven't seen her at all," Gar sighed, looking over at the throwing knives that she would always train with when she was alone.
