Alyssa
When I read his soul one last time before he vanished into thin air with bright green light on his trail, it was as if he decided not to follow the exact orders from his superior because of the unknown capability I had. I figured that much before I could not look into his eyes anymore.
Of course, it was unusual for demigods to face a situation as such but I couldn't care less about it. Alex was technically kidnapped - well, her soul at least was taken against her own will - and I'm supposedly threatened with Alex's life on how my decision turns out to be. He was serious about that my decision would effect upon Alex's life. It was totally unfair!
"Alex, what do I do?" I stared at the corpse lying beside me. Two days was long enough for me to decide on it. I mean, I had made decisions right away before and this wasn't so much difficult to decide on it because it's where I stand and who I stand with to exchange with my sister, my best friend's life. However, if Alex knew what I did in order to save her, she would never ever talk to me again because I went to the opposite side from her: the threat to Camp.
I don't want to lose her too. Oh my god, what in Hades do I do?
Normally, I would have called Mom or Dad if I faced a situation like this before but since Aphrodite removed the spell from me, those memories of my parents faded away. It's as if they never existed. It's as if I never had my loving mom and dad. Now that my actual dad is Hades, it's out of my reach to ask for his suggestion whether to save his other daughter with the exchange of my labor in Gaia's army of mixture of power-hungry monsters, Titans, Gods and demigods. I am pretty much sure that the answer would be no as he said I was... special... sort of.
This magic world was already a lot for me to handle and now this? I have to think of a way and I have this sensation that I haven't discovered all of my powers yet and this is the point where I will have to try. Okay, now I'm not making any sense.
Hades said that I was special. Maybe he meant by the ability I have, which is very different from what the other kids have. Nico could shadowtravel but that is all he could do which is supernatural. Oh, he could raise skeletons too. Nearly forgot. Shadowtravel, hmm...
I closed my eyes and slowly steadied my breath without thinking about Alex's body in front of me, lying as good as dead. Don't think about it. I didn't know how to do that but I had to try.
Squeezing my eyes shut, I imagined in front of the Big House and slowly, I felt the darkness and coldness consumed me. Once I opened my eyes again, I found myself standing in front of the devastated looking Grover with his eyes widening into the size of egg and starting to scream like a little 5-year-old girl unlikely for his matured appearance.
I did it.
"H-how? You... you a-already figured out...?" he stuttered, causing me to roll my eyes. I nodded. Grover and his dramatic reactions...
"But it has been only a day and you..." He stopped to take in a long deep breath. "You haven't even started training yet."
"Let's just say I'm a quick learner," I shrugged suddenly remembering why I came here in the first place. But there is no way I'm going to say to Grover. It can turn into the biggest gossip of the Camp since he is somewhat the leader of the Wild. You don't know how nymphs are. They are worse than your normal cheerleaders.
"Where is Annabeth?" I asked him, acting as nonchalance as I could.
"I thought she was going to wake you up?" his statement sounded more like a question to me. That reminded me of this morning which felt like a millennia away. How could that happened in such a short time?
