Alex

Not that I don’t like my new looks, I’m not really fond of it. I’m a daughter of Hades but blue eyes? Maybe I inherited from my mom. And first of all, who is my mom?

A freaking beautiful goddess just came by and put us all in sleep with_ according to Chiron_ her charmspeak. I just didn’t get how the heck it works but after I woke up, I found a new girl in a mirror as my reflection instead of me.

It took minutes to register what just happened in my mind then realized that the appearance I had was my actual looks. Everything was just so weird.

They said that I’m a half-blood so the family I had been living with all along adopted me or something? This is confusing me, very much. I was with Chiron and Percy in what they call The Big House. Annabeth was absent as she went to check for Alyssa.

“I looked up for your family,” Chiron said. “They are spells. I don’t really know what kind of magic it is but I’m sure it’s something ancient.”

“You mean…. They aren’t actual human?” I asked, my tone shaking from the anxiety of my new life and discovery of my past which was a fraud.

Chiron shook his head. “You should go talk to Hecate’s children. They specialize in magic so they would probably know.”

“Thanks, Chiron,” I nodded in gratitude. I didn’t know what I’m supposed to do. Am I supposed to freak out like Alyssa did or something? But even if I wanted to go all nuts, my body is so calm.

“Hey, Chiron! Have you seen Annabeth?” A new voice sprang from behind me, a girl voice. I turned my head sideways to look who it was.

It was a girl with bright red hair wearing orange T-shirt with Camp Half Blood caption on it with jeans. She didn’t seem to pay much attention to her outfit like those Aphrodite girls I saw but she is really pretty.

“Hey,” Percy nodded in her direction like ‘Sup?’

I rolled my eyes at his behavior. Is he like a popular kid here or something? I mean, he is very casual with everyone.

“I’m not going to associate with you!” She crossed her arms over her chest. Obviously, she was mad at Percy.

“Well, guess what. You just did.” Percy was smirking at his victory.

Rachel shot daggers at his direction with her eyes filled with killer intent. “I did not and_”

“Children!”Chiron bellowed stopping their childish fight. “Annabeth went to check on Alyssa,” Chiron answered at the red-headed girl.

“I heard there are new campers?” she asked and finally setting her eyes on me. “So you are…?”

“I’m Alex. Pleasure to meet you,” I extended my hand to shake with hers.

“Rachel,” she beamed at me as she shook my hand. “Rachel Elizabeth Dare.”

I shrugged. “No surname here.”

“Typical for a demigod.”

I liked her. She was unusually casual with me, a new comer; unlike the other campers who stared at me just because of I was a daughter of Hades.

I mean, I was brought into this whole Greek world and they were no help at all. Stares were all I got. I didn’t get the explanations in details. Even Chiron is apparently the trainer there; he didn’t know the answer of my birth. Who the heck is my mother?

Okay, I was totally freaking out inside, when I looked at my reflection at the glass window; I was the total opposite of how I felt.

I looked calm. I freaking looked calm! How the heck am I able to maintain my cool?
