Alex
This is seriously NOT happening. Half-blood? Me? Somebody please tell me this is not happening. Everyone was staring at us, at Alyssa and me. If we were half-blood, then our parents adopted us or something? That was making no sense.
I looked at Alyssa. She looked fine but a little nervous. I mean, she looked nervous in a positive way. I was nervous in a negative way. Well, that was what she had been wishing to happen anyway. She loved Greek Mythology and always had believed in it.
"What is going on?" she asked, question directed to me.
"I don't know. They seem like they are waiting for somebody in charge," I answered.
"This is awkward, Alex. Can't we just go find a hotel room and call it a day?" she sounded tired.
"I tried that already. That Percy dude insists we stay," I replied.
"What is going on here?" bellowed a voice. The campers cleared a way in front of us. It was still afternoon so I could see clearly but what I saw didn't make any sense. I saw a man with a horse's body..... Was it a centaur?
"Oh, my god," Alyssa muttered beside me.
"Chiron," a girl with blonde hair walked up to the horseman, namely Chiron. Unlike normal dumb blondes, she was different. She has these stormy gray eyes.
"Annabeth, what's going on here?" Chiron inquired.
"These are newcomers, Chiron. Percy found them wondering around at The Empire State Building."
"We weren't wondering around," Alyssa argued. "Percy bumped into Alex when we were about to go up the building and 'peacefully' observe the scenery of New York City. Then, he dragged us here on his Pegasus."
"True," I backed up Alyssa. "He even tried to kill Alyssa by poking her with his sword on the cheek."
"I was not going to kill her!" Percy argued back in his defense. "I was just checking if she is demigod and if I meant_"
"Percy," Annabeth stopped him.
"How old are you both?" Chiron asked.
"Sixteen, sir," Alyssa answered the question.
"Just Chiron, please," he replied. Clearly, he didn't like to be called 'sir'.
"Sixteen?" Annabeth wondered. "But_"
"Yes, this isn't right," Chiron interrupted her. "Aren't all gods supposed to claim their children at age of thirteen, if I'm not wrong?"
I frowned at his response. "What do you mean?"
"They made a promise that they won't neglect their children at the Manhattan War. It's a long story. But you are sixteen and yet, you do not know your parent," Chiron explained.
"Something is not right here," Percy commented.
"Oh, thanks a lot," Alyssa snapped back. "We already figured that out, Kelp Head."
Percy twitched a lip at her statement, making everyone laugh. Well, except Percy. Even Chiron let out a chuckle.
"She is totally my sister!" A boy with a messy brown curly hair exclaimed. "Her sense of humor is same level like mine."
"Leo," Annabeth said. "Not now_"
"Nice to meet you," he ignored Annabeth and shook Alyssa's hand. "I'm Leo, Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus."
"Nice to meet you too, Leo," Alyssa greeted back. "I'm Alyssa, and I have no idea whose daughter I am."
"You will find out sooner or later, sis," Leo winked at Alyssa. Now he was calling her sis? They just met.
