Alyssa

"How many times are you going to faint?" Dylan asked, looking irritated. "It's getting annoying.

"Hey! I saved you from those pajamas dudes!" I punched his arm playfully, causing him to lose balance on the steering wheel and the car fall on the opposite lane. If it wasn't for Dylan's quick reflexes, we would have run into a truck and I would now be a dead meat.

"What the hell?!" Dylan yelled as the car was on the right side of the road again.

My heart was beating fast, matching my breathing rate. "I just punched lightly!"

"You are a freaking demigod, Alyssa. Learn how to control you strength."

"Oh, I'm sorry, Dylan. I just found out that I have superhuman strength and that I could raise walking bones from the ground. I'm trying my best to let it all sink in so I'm sorry if I neglected the fact that I need to be able to control how much effort I put in a playful punch to lighten the mood!"

Cue awkward silence.

"I'm sorry," Dylan said. "I just_"

"I'm tired."

With that, I put my legs on the dashboard and folded my arms in front of me, signaling that I don't want to talk at the moment. I tried to sleep but just waking up from unconsciousness minutes ago, I couldn't quite fall into peaceful blunder.

The burning rage inside of me wasn't helping either.

And I'm pretty sure that you are all confused by now of how I and Dylan managed to escape from that fiasco at Paris. And if you are wondering why I used the phrase 'at Paris' as if I'm not at Paris anymore, that's right, I am not at Paris anymore.

When the two blokes arrived and started attacking us, Dylan was holding them back to reach to me and don't get me wrong, he was doing a great job. It's just that he being a boy and boys being idiots when it comes to thinking that we girls can't manage to protect ourselves; that is where things went wrong.

The three of them were literally fighting to death as if they were swore-enemies which I'm now pretty sure that they are. Somehow, through Dylan's defenses, a boomerang thingy of one of the magician dudes miraculously raced towards me. Adrenaline pumped through my veins.

I was going to shadowtravel to avoid getting hit by it and I did. When I passed the screaming souls for a second or soul with my knees feeling wobbly, I found out I got, like, 5 meters from where I was standing before.

When I looked back at the exact same place that I was standing not long before, I saw Dylan writhing on the ground in pain. I realized that – in that kind of situation, what do you people say – oh yes, he took the bullet for me. In this case, a magical boomerang.

The British dude grabbed Dylan by his collar and helped him rise up. Well, I wouldn't exactly say help because it seemed more like rose Dylan up from the ground, singlehandedly.

The other dude turned towards me and said, "Hey, princess. Come quietly and we will let this traitor go." He gestured towards Dylan, who was glaring at me as if he knew what I was thinking of doing. "If not, I can't guarantee your dear Dylan's life."

Dylan was scowling at me like a mother who was scolding her kid for forgetting to do a chore or something.

Oh.

I turned on the switch. Inside my head, I mean. Wait, not literally because that would be freaky if there was a switch inside my head. It's not like one of those eye controls thing from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D because that would be extra weird. What I meant was that_
