Chapter 16: Hope

Warning (?): This is following up with chapter 11 of this story, "Trip to the Past", and not much mental asylum-related things are in here (only a few tho), just about how he got out of the asylum.

No one pov: 

I wonder if there is still hope for Tomioka-san returning to a human. There might not be any hope. He's already devoured many humans. But we must not get lost in despair. We must keep trying even if Tomioka-san has lost all his humanity. 

That was what Shinobu was thinking while she was working with Tamayo. 

She sometimes has a feeling that the antidote would not work. 

But we don't know yet, do we? 

"Tamayo-san... do you think the antidote will work?" Shinobu asked. 

"I have a positive feeling that it will. Don't worry, Kocho-san." 

Shinobu nodded. 

With Giyuu 

I'm tired. 

I'm just gonna sleep...

But I should tell Douma first--- 

Giyuu walked opened a few doors, leading to Douma's room. 

"Hello, Douma-dono. I'm going to sleep". Giyuu said 

"OhhhH uhhh okkeeee, but why are you telling me you're going to sleep?- You could've just slept", Douma responded. 

"Just wanted you to know." 

Giyuu then walked to one of the guest rooms in Douma's temple, falling asleep in a few minutes. 

(yeahhhH demons dont sleep (aside from nezuko), so let's pretend other demons sleep too okeee?? 😁)

Not long after he fell asleep though, a dream came crashing into him like a train.

The dream was of course going to be about his traumatizing childhood. 

The man who told Giyuu that he was going to tell other people what they think about letting Giyuu go to his distant relatives. 

Most of the people said yes. 

And a few said no. 

But most said yes, so that will mean that he will be able to go. 

Giyuu was happy, he can finally leave this place and finally run off... somewhere. 

It was a very dumb idea considering it was winter, and it might snow and become very cold. All Giyuu wore was his sister's red haori. It wasn't enough to keep him warm if it snowed all the sudden, but he doesn't care. As long as he has it. 

It was the night before he's going to leave this place. 

When it was finally morning, they un-restrained him. 

Giyuu couldn't find his duct tape though. 

Where did it go? He always kept it on the floor. 

'Oh well, I'll just not talk'

A few people were there. There was a woman, and 2 men. He's guessing they are the one who are going to transport him to his relatives. 

"Oi, come on boy. We're going now." 

Giyuu nodded, still not saying anything because of his fear of getting beaten.
