PREGNANT FOR BROTHER IN LAW

6. ......Pathetic Little.....

Done with our makeup and dresses, we headed to the car that was waiting outside. Sofie was worried about my dress but as for me, I had nothing to be worried about because it was beautiful and amazing, I know Kendra had got me something that was presentable. The loose gown that was holding the dress together was not a problem for me. There was no way it was going to fall to embarrass me. Sofie was dressed in a navy blue suit. She looked more beautiful in a suit, unlike the last time she was wearing a dress for her brother's wedding. She was trying to hide a cat in her neck though, I don't know why but I have never seen a beautiful tattoo like hers on her neck. Maybe one day I will get to know what it meant.

We climbed into the car, Sofie texted someone on her phone and the driver started the car. Josh reminded me that I should be there on time, I knew that was a must because Kendra was expecting me to be there and take pictures of hers and Xander's.

I have tried to ask Sofie what is the party all about but she is also clueless like me. I don't understand why we have to hold a party just some two months after their wedding, that is alike wasting a lot of cash on something unworthy. "What about your mum, she didn't say anything?" I asked agitated to know what is truly happening to have us dressed up and attend a party.  Sofie looked at me and shook her head. I know she didn't know, maybe I should hold my curiosity as I wait until we get to the party.

My phone rang and I quickly looked at it. I bet if I was not Kendra's social media manager, I would have never had an expensive phone like this. I slide the screen and place it on my ear.

"Hello," I start in a low voice to avoid creating attention at no one in particular.

"Make sore you are here to go live for my grand entrance until I am done with the celebration, okay?" Kendra shouted on the other side.

I closed my eyes and then opened them. I thought that I was even going I get an evening to mingle with Sofie, her girlfriend, and even with Josh. Look at me who is going to be a paparazzi at the event! "Sure," I mumble slowly to make her end the call.  This is so gruesome. I can't imagine holding the phone high every second just to make sure her face is seen everywhere.  Remember there is a prize after it, I will get to go to college and take the course that I have always wanted. So it doesn't seem like anything hard for me to do.

Sofia looks at my side and I pretend to be okay while adjusting my dress and placing the phone back into the purse. "Must you do that?" she asks while sliding her phone and looking at me.  What can I say? It's a must I do it, I can't fail to do it. I need that cash to attend college though I am not sure when it will be enough for me to attend college.  "I am used to it, I treat it like a job, Sofie," I say smiling.

We all know that is stupid, we all know that I don't get paid enough even for me to rent a house for myself or do anything important. Maybe it's time I get myself a job. Sofie on the other hand chuckles and looks out of the window. Yeah, what I said must have been so stupid for her to keep quiet and look outside.

"Sweetheart, you need to earn some real money from doing that job. I don't know what your prize is after this, but make sure you are compensated. As much as you are eighteen, that doesn't mean you should work for free, you need money for your needs, and you won't be surviving on Josh's pocket, stop being too good because she is your sis!"

Sofia has a point, but that is just like just one point because doesn't know what it means to work for Kendra. I need to be focused and eye the prize. That is all that I am doing, I don't know if it's good or bad but I am betting on it.  "I am not naive Sofie, I know what I am doing," I said and looked outside avoiding her piercing gaze.

We all stopped bothering each other about our troubles. I don't think she has any trouble, I am the one who has a lot of trouble here. I am just a silly eighteen-year-old teenager who is desperate to go to college and do everything right. I don't know if I have done this the wrong way, but I know I am going to get what I want.
