Fezco couldn't believe how fast he trusted this person. It wasn't normal for him, so it scared him. From a young age his grandma had always taught him to never trust anyone, and here he was trusting a girl he'd barely just met.

But, he could tell she was different, different like no other. She was special, and he knew he wanted her around, if not for him, for her.

He needed her and she needed him, but neither of them would understand why, not yet.

Both eventually fell asleep in the phone, both unknowingly falling asleep thinking of one another.

-The next day-

Reina was sitting at her vanity, applying her makeup. She was mid adding setting powder when her phone began ringing.

"Hello?" Reina said into the phone.
"Reina, I need a pretty big favor."

She knew it was Fezco on the other line from the sound of his voice,

"What is it?" She asked.
"I just got a call and there's something I have to deal with something out of town, and i can't take Ash with me."

Reina was quieter, thinking of what she should do, quickly responding.

"He can stay with me if you want," she offered.

Fezco sighed in relief,
"Please, that would be great," He said, "I just dont wanna leave him alone."

"I get it, t's okay. How long were you gonna be out of town?" She asked.

"I'm not entirely sure yet but I'll let you know as soon as I find out."

"Okay, what time do you plan to drop him off?" She asked.

"Right now?" Fezco said hesitantly.
"Okay I-" She tried to speak, but was cut off from the knock on the door.

Reina rushed down the stairs, forgetting her appearance.

She swung the door open, met with the small boy and his older brother. Both boys giving her a funny look,
"Good morning to you too." Said Reina.
"Sorry, good morning Rey." Said Fezco, scratching the back of his neck.

"I'm joking, but good morning." She smiled up at Fezco and grabbed a bag from him. She looked over at Ashtray who had his arms crossed with an annoyed look on his face.

"Say 'Hello', Ashtray." said Fezco, caused Ashtray to roll his eyes,

"Hello, Ashtray."

Reina gave him a warm smile, hoping he'd warm up to her soon enough.
"Get in the house, your room's gonna be up the stairs, first room to the right." Reina said, nodding her head towards the stairs.

He nodded at her, walking inside the house, taking his shoes off before walking further than the entryway.

Fezco smiled at the cute interaction,
"He might be grumpy for a few days." Said Fezco, "He's used to coming on these trips with me."

"What's different about this time?" She asked.

"New people and different environment, I can't put him at risk, I need to know what we're getting into first."

"I mean...you kinda did it to him in a different way." Reina said, causing Fezco to furrow his eyebrows slightly, looking confused.

"What do you mean?" He finally asked.

"Fezco, I met the boy last night, and now you're dropping him off to stay with me for who knows how long," she began, "I know this is different because I've gained your trust, but I am still a new person and this is a new environment, of course he's gonna be a little grumpy."

Fezco nodded, understanding. He hand considered what Reina had said, but he knew she was right.

"I'll make sure to check up on him every so often."

"Sounds like a good idea," she said, smiling up at Fezco.

They both stood there for a moment, just watching watch other. Reina noticed him getting ready to take a step forward, "I got it from here, be safe on your trip."

He looked down a bit, causing Reina to feel bad. She stepped out into the doormat and went on her tippy toes, gently grabbing Fezco's chin and turning his head to the side, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Fezco's cheeks became a tint of red, a small smirk growing on his face. He took a step back, walking down the driveway.

Reina closed and locked the front door, walking to where she sent Ashtray.
"Ashtray?" She said, knocking on the room door. When there was no answer, she slowly opened the door.

An empty room.

"Ashtray?" Reina yelled. She ran around the house, looking for the boy. Running up and down the stairs, opening doors and closets.

Nothing.

She eventually went to go check her bedroom, she walked over to her windows to see Ashtray sitting on the steps of the back door, looking out at the road and other houses.

She quietly walked back down the stairs and gently opened the back door and said down next to him.

They were both silent, Reina taking quick glances at him, wondering why he was out here. They sat there until eventually he spoke up,
"Are you and Fez dating?" He asked bluntly.

Reina felt her cheeks heat up slightly, but they weren't, "No, we're not dating? We just met a-"
"Yesterday, I know." Ashtray interrupted.

"Ashtray, you have nothing to worry about. We are not dating, we're just friends. Barely even that." She said, moving herself to face Ashtray.

"That's what they all say." Said Ashtray.

"I know we just met, and I'm sorry your brother made you stay here, but I care about him, and you."

Ashtray finally looked up at her, his eyes slightly watery.

"I'll give you space if you need it, Fezco told me it might take a while to trust me. And I understand, but I just want you know that I'm here." Reina said, getting up and dusting of her pajama shorts.

"Let me know if you need...or want anything."
Reina left it at that, walking back inside the house.

She knew he needed time, and she was willing to let him have it.

She just hoped he would open up to her eventually, she wanted to get to know him.

She wanted him to trust her.
