Recap

"Just take me with you." Ashtray said in a 'Duh' tone.
"You're not going with me, it's dangerous." Reiina said. "Now go get your bag."

Ashtray walked up the stairs and ran down with his bag slung over his shoulder. Reina had also gone to get her bag from the laundry room.
"Ready?" Asked Reina. He nodded in response.

Song: "Notion" by The Rare occasions.

Ashtray and Reina drove silently in the car, until Ashtray spoke.
"So why can't you take me to the deal?" he asked.
"It's not really a deal," said Reina.
"What? So what is it?" asked Ashtray.

"I'm meeting someone. He's a contact my boss gave me. He just resurfaced." said Reina, gripping the steering wheel.
"Why do you need to meet him?"

"Since I've been out here, I haven't been able to get in contact with her," said Reina.
"Your boss is a girl?" asked Ashtray, almost flabbergasted.

"Why so surprised?"
"Me and Fezco have only known 2 female dealers."

"That's not surprising, I know none. Besides myself and my boss." shrugged Reina. "But we're getting off track, I'm dropping you at the shop."

"Come on, it's nothing i haven't done before."
"Fine, i'll take you. But if you die, your ass better not haunt me when you become a ghost." Reina said, causing Ashtray to laugh a little.
"I promise." Ashtray said.

-

Reina parked on the side of the road, she quickly turned to Ashtray and pointed her finger at him,
"Your brother can never know about this." Reina said firmly.
"Ok ok, i won't tell him." said Ashtray, putting his arms up in defense. Reina nodded and they both got out of the car.

Reina secured her backpack on her shoulder before she felt for her gun in her waistband, making sure she had it, as well as checking if she had her holster with her knife in it.

They began walking along the sidewalk, stopping when they stood in front of a very nice house.

"A drug dealer lives here?" ashtray asked.
"Apparently." Reina said.

They walked up to the door, and Reina knocked loudly. Reina hovered her ear over the door, flinching when she heard yelling.

"Grace! Get the door!" yelled a man. The door quickly swung open, revealing a middle aged woman.
"Hello, how can I help you?" she asked.

"I was hoping to talk to an old friend. Last I checked, he lives here?" said Reina.
"May I ask who you may be looking for?"

"He goes by the name Derek," said Reina. The woman looked behind her before turning back to us.
"Please, come in. I'll go get him right now."
Reina was hesitant but agreed, she grabbed Ashtray's shoulder. Making sure he was secured next to her.

"Please, have a seat in the Dining room," said the woman, leading us there. They took a seat at the dining table.
"I'll go get Derek."

Reina and Ashtray patiently waited, both fiddling with their fingers. Soon, they heard footsteps approaching and stopped. Turning their gazes to the doorway of the room.

"Reina?"

"Derek, it's good to see you," said Reina.
"H-how did you- how did you find me?" he asked, finding a seat across from Reina and Ashtray.

"We've been tracking you, your boat at least." sighed Reina, "And when we saw it had docked in Long Beach, I was able to track you down.

"Why though? Not that I'm complaining, it's just- it's been a while."
"I would have tried to contact you sooner, but nothing was going through. So I thought right now would be best."
"When did you move out here yourself?" asked Derek.

"I moved to Los Angeles around 6 and a half years ago, after Nadine passed. And I recently moved city's a little less than a month ago." she explained.

"How about you, when did you move out here?" she asked.
"I moved after grandma Elena died. So around 7 years ago." Derek said. "But anyway, how are you and Raymond?"

"Uh...yea." said Reina, she received a look from Ashtray, "Well Raymond passed early december."
"Oh...i'm sorry to hear that." sighed Derek, "What happened?"

"It was an overdose,"
"Does that mean you're still a part of the Rose thing?" he asked.
"We can't exactly leave." shrugged Reina.

"I did, I'm out of it." said Derek. Reina stared at him, realizing her mistake of coming here.

"It's just weird, I can't believe Elena, of all people, would let a drug deal go wrong."Derek said, Reina froze in her seat, slowly looking up at Derek.

"They never told you?" Asked Derek.

Reina knew exactly what happened that night, she was there. What she didn't know was that her parents lied to everyone.

"No, I was young when it happened. I was only told she died." Reina lied.
Reina then heard shuffling behind her.

She felt Ashtray grip her forearm. Reina turned her head around. Seeing the lady from earlier, Grace, with a tray that had a pitcher of lemonade along with some drinking glasses.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but would you guys like some lemonade?"
Reina looked at Ashtray who nodded his head.
"Actually I think we have to start heading out." said Reina, smiling at the woman, "It was nice seeing you Derek, and it was nice meeting you Grace."

Reina and Ashtray got up and walked themselves to the front door, leaving.

She took one last glance at the front door. Seeing Derek standing in the doorway and staring back at them.

"That was..." Ashtray trailed off.
"Interesting." Reina finished.

-

Once they got in the car, it was silent. Until Ashtray spoke up.
"What happened to Elena? I saw your reaction, it was...weird."
"It was a long time ago, he doesn't have all the details of that night." said Reina, dismissing him as she looked at the road ahead.

"What happened that night?" asked Ashtray, he turned his head slightly, seeing Reina clench her jaw.

Ashtray was about to speak up until Reina beat him to it,
"I was a little bit younger than you, nine or ten," Reina started.

"I don't know if Fezco told you but my mother, Nadine, and a few family members and family friends, worked for the same drug business that I work for now. The only difference was me nor my father knew until later."

Reina took a glance at Ashtray before looking back at the road,
"One night, my grandmother showed up."

"Elena."

"Your grandmother?" Asked Ashtray.
"Yes, my Grandma Elena, she was a close partner to my Aunt Rose and happened to be Rose's step-mother, both running the main establishment." she said.

"Anyway, Elena came asking for my my mothers stash. And her being her, she didn't want to tell them where it was."

Reina stopped at a red light and slightly turned to Ashtray, she lifted her shirt. A scar visible on the left side of her torso.
"They gave you that?" Asked Ashtray.
"Yep." Said reina. "Ten year old me...against two grown men and Elena." Said Reina. Ashtray was silent.

"Did you.....did you kill them?" He asked. Almost afraid of the answer.

"I did." Reina let out a breath. "Enough with this, text your brother we're going out as soon as me and you get to my place."

"What?! Hell no, I ain't going out." complained Ashtray. Reina glanced at Ashtray, giving him an evil smirk.
