Walking Home.

Caspar stepped back quickly, not wanting to land you into any more trouble than you were already certain to be in. Your eyes fell to the floor as you tried to think of an excuse. “What the hell was that?!” you felt Ben’s cold hard stare as he tore into you with this question. He stumbled towards you, completely hammered, before he fell to the floor, crying at your feet. You felt slightly guilty but there was nothing you wanted more than to get away from everyone here. Including Caspar. You stepped over Ben carefully, determined not to cause any more trouble as you left. Josh stared at you as if you had done the bravest thing in your life, but the most regrettable too. The look in his eyes scared you, and as you pushed past him, you got more of those glares. “Anyway, erm, whose next? Come on Ben let’s get you to bed, you’re ruining the mood mate” Josh joked. Ben was swiftly dragged to bed by Josh, and you took this as your cue to leave.

You felt so embarrassed, not only had you kissed another guy, but you had done it in full view of everyone at the party. And that guy was Caspar Lee.  Things couldn’t get worse. You felt humiliated. You started to sob as you walked down the street that had been your friend this morning. Now it felt that anything and everything was turning against you. The wind bit at your face and hands, and the quiet tortured your senses. You were alone on your way home. On a night that couldn’t get worse. Or you thought you were.

“_____! Wait! I’m sorry!” You heard Caspar yell at you, breaking the silence. You carried on, determined to get to your flat before he could catch up. But it was too late. Caspar Lee was stood next to you, holding you still. He stared into your eyes with a stern, serious, yet compassionate look on his face. “I’m sorry. I was out of line. It’s my fault. Just promise me you won’t go back to that guy.” He spoke with actual concern in his voice. You forgot what it was like to be cared about, your family lived in Manchester, and you were all the way in London. You had a few friends here, but most were busy a lot of the time so you rarely saw them outside college. You liked this familiar feeling. “I’m sorry,” he repeated, “am I forgiven?”

It was impossible to say no to that. You felt as if you had just been dipped in a pool of reassurance, and you wanted more. You nodded stubbornly, and he, clearly relieved, smiled. Those lips were perfect. And his eyes just seemed to glow. Not to mention his beautiful sweeping hair. “Can I walk you home?” he asked. Your heart was in your mouth, you didn’t know what to do. You shrugged coolly at him, trying to appear normal. “Great” he said, “Where do you live?” he asked, clearly trying to get you to talk. “Erm…Court House Apartments, a building a few miles from here, I was about to get the tube” you replied.

He looked at you as if you were crazy, but his eyes were still beautiful, and now his lips were slightly parted. “That’s quite a distance. Here, I live just around the corner; you could stop at mine until tomorrow? We have an airbed…” he was tempting you, but you had only walked out on Ben a few minutes ago, and it was nowhere near a break up. But he had a point. You would have to travel miles in the cold, and the tube is far from pleasant at night.  “Alright, but no one can know about this, and it’s only for the night, I’ll be gone first thing in the morning, okay?” You raised your eyebrows at him, waiting for the answer. “That’s fine, I promise no one will know, other than my flat mate and friends” he replied. Friends? How many? More YouTuber’s? You didn’t need your life going all over the internet. “Friends? Flat mate?” You questioned, becoming more anxious about the whole Ben situation by the second. “There’s only a few of them, don’t worry” he laughed, “besides, they can keep secrets…” Caspar was acting extremely mischievous and childish, but that just made him all the more attractive. He winked at you before tugging your arm and running with you to his flat.
