I was startled awake to Christmas music blasting throughout my room. I opened my eyes and saw a figure standing in my doorway. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go. Take a look at the five and ten, it's glistening once again." I sat up and pulled the covers off of me before groaning. "Vic, shut up!" I heard him giggle and walk closer to my bed.
"You're finally up sleepy head, all it took was some Michael Bublé." I rolled my eyes before getting up and shutting the music off. "Your parents know I'm here, I'm staying for breakfast." He said with a proud grin. "You're lucky I love you, Victor." I scoffed before walking out of my room with him right by my side. Zero, my dog, was following us down the stairs and trotting as an expression of his happiness.I named him after the nightmare before Christmas, it was my favorite movie as a kid and I've always loved zero. "Your mom made waffles." My mom knows Vic loves waffles, our moms have been friends before we were born so we've always been close. We walked into the dining room and sat at the table. My parents said good morning and we talked about random nonsense as Vic was being favorited by my parents.
"So I was thinking, you boys could take Joey out sledding today." My mom said. I furrowed my eyebrows. Without snow? "But there's no snow." Vic laughed and shook his head. "There was a huge storm last night, why do you think I woke you up the way I did?" My head snapped towards the window, I scanned my eyes over a thick cloud of snow covering the ground.
"Yeah sure." I said, my eyes wide with shock. We finished up our breakfast and I made my way upstairs to get dressed for the day. I threw on a red and black striped sweater along with some sweatpants. I dug around my closet before finding a black zip up hoodie with a wolf on the front.
I ran downstairs and saw Vic already had his coat and boots on. I slipped my boots on and heard my mom yell. "Be safe!" I showed her a thumbs up as a rushed out of the door with Vic. I slid on my skeleton gloves right before Vic pushed me into the snow. "You ass!" I yelled before laughing and making an attempt to push myself up out of the snow.
"Help me." I whined as my body weight kept pushing me deeper and deeper into the snow. "Your little twink ass cant do shit for yourself." He added while giggling. "Yeah whatever." I grabbed onto his hand and he pulled me up, almost pulling my arm out of its socket in the process.
"You really need to be more careful Frankie, you could hurt yourself." Vic teased as we made our way to his car that was parked in the driveway. "Yeah well I'm about to hurt you if you don't shut the hell up." Vic raised his hands in defense and raised his eyebrows. "Calm down, tú estoy muy loco, niñito."
"Whatever, let's go." I said while hopping into the passengers seat and turning on the seat warmer. I started flipping through the stations when vic started the car. "Thank god we have a rock station." I exclaimed as queen started blaring throughout the car. While we were heading towards joey's house.
Joey is my moms coworkers son, he's the only little kid I can stand. As Vic was singing along to the song that was currently playing, I was looking out the window instead, scouting out buildings that could possibly be my next victim.
Soon enough, we arrived at the familiar house and waiting for a minute before seeing Joey run out of his house with his sled as his mom stood in the doorway, telling him to have fun and behave. "What's up dude?" I asked, a smile forming on my face. "Hi Frankie! Hi Vic! My sled has lighting bolts on it!" He exclaimed happily. "That's so awesome." Vic said with a smile as he turned around to look.
"This is gonna be so rad!" I grinned as he said that, knowing he picked up on that from me.
We talked and talked as Vic drove us to a park with a huge hill but stairs to make it easier to climb up. During the ride, I kept noticing Vic glancing at me every couple of minutes. I decided not to think much of it though. We eventually made it to the park and helped Joey carry his sled to the hill.
I layed it down on the fluffy white snow and he sat down eagerly. "You ready buddy?" I asked, trying to match his enthusiasm. "Yeah!" I grabbed the back of the sled and ran as fast as the snow would let me and let go as we made it near the top of the hill.
"Weeee!" He cried out, followed by a bunch of laughter and screaming. "How are you so good with kids?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I turned around and looked at Vic while furrowing my eyebrows. "What do you mean?"
He shrugged. "Like, I don't know how to match their vibes." He said with an embarrassed laugh. "You could always try babysitting, that's how I practiced." I said while putting a relaxing hand on his shoulder. "You know, get ready for you wife if you know what I mean." I said with a smirk and obnoxiously raising my eyebrows.
"I guess so..." we both saw that Joey was heading back towards us with a huge smile on his face. "Can you record me this time?" I nodded and pulled out my phone as Vic took his turn with pushing the sled. I pressed the red record button and zoomed in as he got farther away.
I had to hold back a laugh as he rolled over off his sled once he was at the bottom but he immediately stood up and raised his hands in the air. I ended the video as he started to make his way back up. "Can I see?" He said with pure joy on his face. I unlocked my phone and let him hold it. I pressed play and watched as he lit up with how cool he looked.
He went down a couple more times before he was tired enough to want to go back home. "What kind of music do you like?" I asked, turning around to look at him in the backseat. He thought for a moment before shouting "blink-182!" I furrowed my eyebrows to look at Vic before hooking my phone up to the aux cord and playing "all the small things."
I didn't realize Vic pulling into a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot until we came to a sudden stop. "You guys stay in here." He said while getting out of the car and heading inside. A couple minutes later he came back outside with two drinks in his hands and a bag.
He opened the door and handed one of the drinks to me and another to Joey, he also opened the bag and let Joey pick out a donut from it before bringing it back towards us. He took one out for me and handed it to me on a napkin.
"Here, let me pay you back." I set my donut on my lap and held my coffee in my other hand before Vic stopped me. "No don't, it's okay."
We drove Joey back to his house and he thanked us as he ran out the door and inside to tell his mom all about today. "Do you wanna stay the night?" I asked Vic, wanting someone to hang out with for longer. "Sure, my mom won't care."
A/N btw I take Spanish in school so idk how that little part will sound but also sometimes my writing is better some days than others so it depends on the chapter if the writing is good or not.
