Chapter Twenty-seven

Savannah

I fluttered my eyes open, and I noticed that I was on a bed. What the hell happened, I was in the bath, and I remember struggling with my breathing and I blacked out.

"Oh, you're finally awake" a voice spoke.

I looked around to try find the source of the voice and some strange looking guy appeared.

"W-what happened" I stuttered out slowly, sitting up and he came to help me. He fluffed my pillow and started speaking.

"You lost consciousness due to an allergic reaction, but you'll be okay." The guy said.

"Sorry but who are you, I don't remember seeing you" I asked shyly.

"Oh sorry, I'm Matteo Morelli. Leo's uncle and the family doctor here in Italy."

"Oh, w-where's Leo" I asked

"He's downstairs along with everyone else, they were worried about you. Leo even blames himself for what happened to you." The guy said. "Should I go call him" he asked, and I nodded.

Leo and the gang came bursting through the door.

"Oh Anna Banana, I thought I lost you" Ben said in a dramatic tone, wiping a non-existent tear on his face.

"It will take more than an allergic reaction to lose me, Benny Boo" I said with a smirk.

"Hey pumpkin, are you okay" My dad stated and I nodded with a small smile.

I noticed Leo was quiet, I scowled. "Leo are you okay" I asked and he just stormed out.

"O-okay, I'll go talk to him" My dad said and followed after him.

"He kinda blames himself for what happened to you, but he will come around soon. Don't worry Sweetheart." Leo's dad said in a comforting tone and came to sit down next to me on the bed. Ben followed suit.

We sat in awkward silence for about a few minutes until Nicolo cleared his throat and broke the silence.

"So Savannah, I've been meaning to ask. When and how did you and Leo meet. I mean we've never heard of you until recently" Leo's father asked in a serious tone. My face turned bright red, how am I supposed to answer that. I mean we only met a few weeks ago. I was thinking of an answer and Ben started talking. He better not screw this up.

"Well Uncle Nicky, Savannah here was the first woman apart from Aunty Luc to ever tell Leo where to get off." Ben said with a grin.

"I told you to stop calling me Nicky and I want Savannah to tell me not you." Nicolo said an annoyed tone. I let out a soft chuckle which they seemed to hear.

"Fine be like that" Ben said pouting, gosh this guy is so dramatic.

Nicolo turned and looked me, the guy isn't scary but the look he gave me sent shivers down my spine. I visibly gulped and started speaking.

"Well Leo and I met a few weeks ago at a gas station, I wouldn't exactly label it that way though. I had just dropped off Sandy at school and I wanted to fill up my car. I arrived at the gas station and Ben here cut in front of me and I lost it. I got out my car and went to give him a piece of my mind. While I was telling where to get off, Leo came out the car looking all mighty thinking he would scare me but I really didn't care at the time. I also gave him a piece of my mind and I stormed off. A few days after, Leo ordered some cupcakes from my bakery and asked me to deliver them personally. Which I did and he asked me out to dinner. I was reluctant at first but I eventually agreed to go out with him and here we are." I said all in one breath and the response I got was complete silence.
