"Really dad? Do we have to?" I wined at him
"Yes darlin I'm sorry but duty calls. We have 2 1/2 weeks until we have to be moved out of here and moved in there " he said as he walked out of the kitchen.
I sat on the island thinking about my life here in Texas that I would be leaving... I'm not mad, upset yes but not mad.
My mom passed 4 years ago. Me and her were really close but I have always been a daddy's girl.
My dad is in the navy so when he says we have to move.... We have to move.
I was born in Florida. Moved to Tennessee when I was 2 then when I was 4 we lived in Africa for 4 years. And moved to Texas when I was 8
Flashback
"Everyone this is Lily Katherine Ross she will be in this class the rest of the year. Can everyone say hello Lilly" my new teacher said to the class
"Hello Lily" the class said
"Okay this is your seat next to Presleigh" she said as she seated me next to a blonde headed girl with dark Brown eyes
She said hi to me but that was it During class no one talked much.
At recess everyone was asking me where I was from and why I moved here
"Okay okay y'all leave her alone. Let her breathe" I heard a voice coming from behind the other kids
When they moved I saw the girl I was sitting by in class
"Hey I'm Presleigh. Want to be friends?" She asked me as she sat beside me on the swing
"I'm Lily and sure!" I replied to her
Ever since that day we have been the best of friends doing everything together.
Present time
" Dad I'm going to meet up with Pres" I yelled to him as I got off of the counter and walked to the door grabbing my sandals and my glasses.
I get on my bike and ride down the road to the Wetzel's house
They live less than 1/2 a mile from my house so it doesn't take too long for me to get there... yes I have my own vehicle but I like the exercise. Plus it's a beautiful summer day here in Texas.
I am 19 and Presleigh is 18 We were 8 and 7 when we met. We have been friends for almost 11 years. She has been through a lot with me. My dad being shipped off time after time. My mom passing... my ex boyfriend, mean girls. Everything.
