Tonight is the steak dinner with my father and some men from the navy.
As I stood in the kitchen preparing the sides all I could was how much I miss my mom. How much I miss my friends back home.
I decided to FaceTime presleigh while I was cooking.
"Umm hello hot mama... why are you so dressed up" she answered looking at me
"Umm hello to you too. It's just a sundress.. noting special" I told her
"You have makeup on!" She called out
"What?!" I heard Koe in the back ground
"Fine you caught me. Dad is having some friends over for a steak diner. Nothing fancy. Pres you know this is my favorite dress. And I wanted to look somewhat presentable." I confessed
"Uh huh sureeee. So who are the guys?" She asked
I could tell Koe didn't like hearing me and presleigh talk about guys.
"Well I'm not sure who all is coming. He invited 3 yesterday but he bought 10 steaks and he's just got the grill going. They should be here shortly" I said
"So why about the 2 guys that were there the other night? Cody and zach?" She asked making me blush
"Uh huh!! You like one of them. You are blushing" she yelled through the phone.
"Shhhhh. I do not." I said looking away from the phone
"Yeah yeah sureeeee" she said laughing.
"Look I don't even know them. Honestly I know their names and they are in the navy. They could be too old for me. Who knows if they are in a relationship already" I told her
"Well that's something to need to find out huh?" She said wiggling her eye brows
I left my phone sitting on the counter facing the door when I heard a knock.
"Hang on a second" I said to Presleigh before going to open the door
"Hello Miss Lily. These are for you" Austin handed me some flowers Sargent.
"Aww thank you. You didn't have to" I told him taking them
"Well you're the host and I know your dad don't want flowers. I got him some beer" he said pointing to the beer in his other hand
"Okay well thank you. Y'all can go to the back. He's out there" I told him and the other men behind him only recognizing 3 of them..
"Hey Lily" Cody said hugging me.
"You look nice this evening" he added
"Well thank you. You do too" I said looking at his dark jeans boots and a tee
A few more came in and Zach was last
"Wow miss Lily. You look beautiful tonight" he said leaning down to hug me
I blushed hard... and I mean HARD my whole body got hot.
"Thank you. You look nice yourself" I said looking at his black shirt light jeans and cowboys boots
" Need help in here?" He asked pointing to the food on the stove
"Oh crap crap. I forgot. I was distracted. You can go on outside where they are ive got it" I said to him
"So I distract you?" He asked leaning against the bar
"Well at the time yes" I said with a chuckle not realizing the phone was still on and pointed towards us
