Chapter 38

After 4 days in the hospital the girls got to go home. Zach and Debbie and presleigh and Julie and Gary kept them at zachs house which was close to the hospital.

Koe stayed with me at nights and was with the girls during the day. The girls came to visit a few times.

I'm still in shock that I have 2 beautiful daughters
They are twins but not identical. Madison looks more like Koe and paisley looks more like me.

KNOCK KNOCK

I heard on the door pulling me from my thought

It was Koe
"Good evening... how are you feeling?" He asked

"I'm okay. Just lonely" I said

"Well I brought movies and food" he said holding up the bags making me smile really big.

I've spent my time trying to get to know him again.. it hurts me when I see him hurting when I don't remember something

"Thank you. You're the best Howd I get so lucky?" I asked with a smile

"Anything for you baby" he said kissing my cheek

"Oh the girls drew these for you" he said handing me some papers that had scribbles all over

"Thank you. Will you put them on the board over there?" I asked

"Footloose?" He asked

"Howd you know that's my favorite movie" I asked

"I've known you your whole life Lily..." he said

"Oh yeah. Sorry" I replied

He got us Texas Roadhouse for supper
He cut up my steak and fixed my baked potato before sitting beside me on the bed

"Oh ow be careful" I said grabbing my ribs as the bed shifted

"Oh I'm sorry. Are you okay?" He asked

"Yeah give me that pillow" I said putting it under my arm against my side. Taking a deep breathe

We are our food and watched footloose in silence.

"Did you know I was pregnant..." I blurted out when the movie went off

Koe sat up and looked at me with soft eyes

"The doctor said I was pregnant...." I said looking at him

"Yeah. He told me. It's okay we have our girls and that's all we need right now" he said

"But I have always wanted 3-4 kids and the doctors Cody and I went to said I couldn't ever get pregnant. But I had twins. And was pregnant again and lost the baby....... It's all my fault for loosing it in the wreck" I said as I started to cry

Koe laid my head on his shoulder and stroked my hair as I cried and cried.

"It's not your fault. It's my fault." He said pulling away

"I have everything I could wish for and I messed it up and I'm truly sorry" he said

"What did you do to mess it up?" I asked

"I cheated... you caught me and left going to zachs" he said

"You... you cheated on me?" I asked. Hurt as if it were the first time but it was the first I heard. I don't remember

"I did baby and I'm so truly sorry. Please let me make it up to you" he said pushing hair out of my face

"But you've acted like nothing happened. Why haven't you told me already? You've been so sweet to me and taking care of me" I said confused
