Blackfrost examined the rogues carefully, learning all of the scents. Honeypelt's belly was swollen, and she had a milky scent coming off of her.

"They got rich prey out here, huh?" Blackfrost woofed, nodding towards the cream colored she-wolf.

Honeypelt let out a snarl, drawing her paw against the ground. "Nice loner you found here, Daze."

"He claims he doesn't talk much," Daze laughed. "Also a bit grumpy.. he'll warm up, I can feel it."

"I didn't choose to be here." Blackfrost acknowledged the group. "I randomly woke up here."

"You're fairly young for a loner- Daze's age," Opal commented, narrowing his eyes in curiosity. "Are you an exile?"

"No, I belong to a pack called SkullPack." the black and white he-wolf murmured. "I need to get back there, my packmates think I'm dead."

"Now?" Daze stepped forward, his pelt prickling. "So soon? It's sunset.. stay with us for the night."

"Fine," Blackfrost agreed, feeling trust pouring out to the rogues, especially to Daze. "I leave at dawn though."

"Sure," the blue-gray he-wolf was reluctant.

Why does he seem against me leaving? I have a pack to get back to! Blackfrost felt a tiny bit of annoyance prickle in his paws.

"Buck for sunset feast," Kona murmured, as she pulled a big deer into the rogues' hideout by its antlers.

"Queens first," Opal acknowledged, letting Honeypelt take the first piece of prey.

"So... who's the father?" Blackfrost asked, as he finally got his share of the buck.

Honeypelt's eyes filled with pain, her tail twitched uncomfortably. "The pups won't meet their father, he's with the stars now."

Blackfrost felt horrible for asking the question, his ears flattened. "I'm so sorry for your loss."

"It was an upwalkers fault." The cream she-wolf bared her teeth into a snarl, "he got run over by a rollingpaw."

"Honeypelt, we all miss Rags." Kona comforted, touching the other she-wolf's shoulder with her tail tip. "He's hunting with HeavenPack now, and he'll meet the pups in their dreams."

Rags?! What an awful name! Blackfrost didn't say anything, he just silently ate and watched the group grieve together.

The moon was out in the sky by now, with only little tints of sunlight left on the horizon. The rogue wolves had settled into their nests of moss, hay from the upwalker barn, and soft leaves. Blackfrost observed the sleepy group, and trotted out of the lichen masking the hideout.

"Where are you going?" Daze murmured quietly, as he slunk out of the lichen as well. His light gray eyes gazed into Blackfrost's green ones, with complete curiosity.

"Oh, just getting a breather." Blackfrost sniffed the cool air of warming-season, the moon was going to be full tomorrow. I'm going to miss my first HowlMeeting...

"Yeah, nice weather tonight." The blue-gray he-wolf woofed back, looking downwards.

"Sure." Blackfrost stared into the clearing ahead, hearing light upwalker-made noise.

"Race ya to the big oak ahead!" Daze yipped, pelting towards the tree in the distance.

Blackfrost sighed at first, then his competitive playful instincts kicked in. He pounded the ground with his strong paws, chasing the blue-gray fur in front of him. The black and white he-wolf tripped over a stone, and went rolling into Daze- who had won the race, and was sitting proudly next to the big oak.
