Bullet stirred, the he-wolf next to her had also awoken from slumber. His purple-smoky gray eyes were light with contentment.
"Should we go see your packmates?" Fire questioned, his wings stretching.
"Yes," the she-wolf responded. "We need to continue the trip to crystal valley."
"Right then," Fire padded out of the little entrance to his spacious part of the big den. Bullet huffed, stretching, then followed his pawsteps.
Silverwing and Storm were nuzzled next to each other, sharing a small pig. Bullet's eyes flickered to across from the two of them, Arrow's light gray eyes were filled with jealousy. Her brother barely even dug into his rabbit, he was busy stalking the two bonded wolves. He needs to get over it... she pondered. The gray she-wolf observed Goldenglow, he hadn't taken a piece of prey, and an anxiety inducing look haunted his eyes. Bullet felt a pang of worry, Goldenglow is a healer wolf, he had gotten a sign from HeavenPack.
"Oh stop it!" Silverwing laughed, as she playfully fought with Storm.
The white he-wolf narrowed his eyes mockingly. "Oh, stop it!" he imitated. "Imagine using that in a fight against SnowPack wolves..."
"Shut up," Silverwing woofed, her green eyes were adoring.
"Make me-"
"Can both of you shut up?" the black and white he-wolf had spoken, Arrow was on his four paws, his fur bristling in annoyance. "It's disgusting, really."
"We're just playing," Storm barked, then became stern. "What's with you? You're always so hostile.. to me."
"Forget it." Arrow snarled, then walked to sit outside of the den.
"Can there please be no arguing today?" Goldenglow hoarsely murmured.
"Goldenglow! Are you sick?" Fire asked, now paying complete attention. "Your voice is hoarse."
"Blackfrost is dead. HeavenPack told me last night in my dreams, we need to get a faster move on to crystal valley, stop this sickness from taking any more legend wolves..." Goldenglow's head hung low in grief. "I hope Katie is doing her best back in the den arena.."
"Blackfrost?!" Bullet was trying to bite back the urge to cry out, lay in grief until HeavenPack decided to take her into their paws too. "Why?! Why him?! He was going to make a loyal and strong legend!"
Storm and Silverwing were looking down, Bullet sensed waves of sadness coming off of them. Fire twitched an ear.
"Who's Blackfrost?" the fiery he-wolf asked quietly.
"My brother..." Bullet's shoulders jerked in sobs.
Fire's pelt ruffled in shock, he immediately wrapped his tail around the grieving she-wolf, letting her lean her head into his shoulder.
"I hate that we can't sit in vigil for him," Goldenglow began. "However, we were the chosen five for the trip to crystal valley. HeavenPack is rushing us on before the sickness becomes even worse. I don't want anymore of our kin being taken..." The golden he-wolf was genuine and sorrowful, it seemed as if his words were choked out.
Bullet's eyes were tearful, but she knew she had to follow the path of HeavenPack's wisdom. Grief was shattering her heart, her breath was shaky from sadness. Don't worry, Blackfrost. I will do everything to save the packs of the mystical wolves.
"We better get moving.." Fire woofed, after what felt like a long period of silence.
The five wolves head outside of the cave den, Arrow was within earshot to get the news about Blackfrost's death. His tail was low, and right now he didn't even care about Storm and Silverwing being so close.
