Malphas, along with the demon children were down on the linoleum floor. Their breaths were uneven, and after a few more moments, each and every one of them started to regain consciousness. They had no idea what just happened.
Malphas felt a booming headache, continually echoing. Fortunately, once the main source of the pain had disappeared, the pain he felt also dissipated. He swore under his breath as he stood up, flexing his muscles. That Little Angel of his was a big pain in the ass. And he had no intention of telling her where the key was because he didn't know where it was. Malphas didn't want Gabriel to know that. Malphas had pride. What would she think if she found out that the creator of this dominion didn't even know where the key was?
The answer: Bael.
He clenched his fists and clamped his jaw. Bael was messing everything. The key must have been shuffled in to the different one o'clock to five o'clock and seven o'clock to eleven o'clock doors. Since Gabriella was stubborn enough, she went in to the one o'clock door. How did he know that? Because the one o'clock door's crow had disappeared.
Crows were Malphas's symbol. The crow on the one o'clock door followed Gabriel for assistance, but Malphas knew better. She only had five percent of surviving that door. Of all the doors she had to take, it just had to be the one o'clock.
The twelve o'clock was the exit, and the six o'clock was the entrance to this clockwork Inner-Circle, so those two doors were out of the options, which means they had to take ten doors.
"Each one of us will have to take a door," Lust said, already standing in front of the two o'clock door. "Unlike Gabriel who's an archangel, we have a higher probability of taking the key considering we're part of this realm. Some of the keys will be fake, and we all have to try it to the twelve o'clock door."
Malphas agreed with Lust's proposition. Some of the demon children would have to take two doors. "I'm going to come after Gabriella."
"Bael messed up, huh?" Sloth asked, stiffly yawning. "I don't wanna do this door game. Who knows what's inside every door?"
Of course. Malphas almost forgot about Sloth. He should have just killed Sloth, so Sloth wouldn't be able to influence individuals, but it was too late for that. They needed all the help they could get.
Malphas shot the demon child a warning look. "You will, or you'll die."
"Why is Bael even messing up with your dominion? Aren't you strong enough to protect this?" Sloth shot back.
