His mouth was against her, coaxing her to respond with heated kisses. But Gabriel was too weak for that. She was too weak to do anything. All she could feel was his soft lips, roughly scraping hers, as if he was afraid she'd disappear any minute, as if He would take Gabriel away from him.

What had happened?

They both knew it was wrong. Gabriel knew it was wrong. And she, of all people, should put a stop to it, but she couldn't. Not when their lips burned together, loving every taste. And it was a different kiss. It wasn't like her archangel's kiss. This kiss felt so real she had to blink thrice to check if it was really Malphas. This wasn't his character.

When he opened his eyes, Gabriel saw anguish and pain. She could hardly breathe and yet when they clashed their mouths together, it was as if she had all the breaths of the world.

Malphas breathed heavily, eyes darker than black. His tongue traced her lower, trembling lip, sucking it effortlessly and he made it look like it was natural. A sigh escaped from her, her hands reaching to tug his wild hair. She wanted more, but she wouldn't admit it. She blamed it on her divinity. She would forget about these feelings once she's reached her complete angelic archangel.

Despite that, she enjoyed his lips. So, so soft but so hard against her. She thought he would kill her then, that she had failed. She wanted to fight it but as soon as she looked at his magnetic eyes, she stopped struggling. Something in his eyes made her trust him. He was killing her. Not physically. But within the soul. He was also killing himself. He was tormenting himself. Gabriel knew he wouldn't be able to do it. She knew because they felt it. They felt how astonishing it was to touch each other's souls. And as she parted her lips, his tongue darted in, memorizing every bit part of her luscious mouth.

Then Gabriel saw his soul – his flickering blue soul. This time, it burned brighter, glowing like lantern. She was in awe. His soul was beautiful. He was damaged and messed up but his soul was beautiful. Again she wondered how he had a soul. Demons had no souls. How come Malphas had one?

Gabriel reached out to touch it, and when she did, Malphas groaned. Suddenly, a force so strong hit them both, dizzying them. Their souls flickered – her golden soul and his blue soul. And for the first time in centuries, millennia, years, weeks, days, months, she saw how her soul intertwined with his. Her soul kissed his, just as his soul wrapped his arms around hers.
