The safe house was one large room, with half walls line together on one side. It looked like an old barn almost.
It was very run down. The walls were wooden and had cracks in some of them, letting the now rising sun peek through. I could see sun dapples on the floor as i walked around.
"Is there guns?" I asked Ghost. There wasn't an obvious armory or anything of the sort.
"Guns, food, supplies, whatever you need." Ghost suddenly opened a sliding door in the back of the house, except it looked like an ordinary wood wall before.
I walked over to where Ghost had opened the door.
"Jesus.." I stepped inside the armory area.
It was the size of a normal closet but lined with guns, ammunition, grenades, first aid, and boxes that were labeled 'Food'. I wasn't expecting something like this, usually when i was on missions a secret armory was just a gun cache hidden in the ground.
"Impressed?" Ghost teased.
"Very." I nodded, still examining everything around me.
I grabbed one of the labeled boxes and popped it open, it was full of granola bars and canned food. I picked up another box and found it was full of just water bottles. I grabbed three and tossed one to Ghost.
"How does breakfast sound." I laughed, holding up a flimsy granola bar in my hand.
"Good idea."
I smiled and stood up, i stepped up to Ghost and put a hand on his chest. I felt the rough texture of his bottom armor under my finger tips. I wanted badly to kiss him again.
"Y/n." Ghost spoke quietly. He took my hand off his chest.
I sighed and turned around to grab some granola bars and the two water bottles. I pushed past Ghost in the armory door way and walked into the middle of the safe house.
"Soap. Here." I handed him a water bottle and a granola bar.
"Finally." He laughed. I gave him a small smile in return.
I walked around the room, half expecting something interesting to catch my eye but obviously there was nothing.
"So what are we supposed to do all day, now?" I cracked open my water bottle and took a sip.
"How about some well needed sleep?" Soap suggested.
"Agreed." I laughed.
"I'll take first watch." Ghost spoke from across the room, now walking towards us.
"You sure?" Soap asked him.
"Positive." Ghost looked to me.
I furrowed my eyebrows at him for a second.
"Well, g'night." Soap mumbled. He took his backpack and sat it against the well, laying against it and closing his eyes.
I awkwardly stood for a moment, unsure of what to do. Soap was quick to sleep, we all needed some rest after today.
"You can sleep." Ghost spoke.
I looked over at him. I guess i should while he's offering.
I looked around the room for somewhere that looked decently comfortable to sleep at. Not much of anywhere did, it was all just floor with random objects littered around. I considered doing what Soap did.
"Here." Ghost motioned for me to come over to him.
He had found old cushions and a tattered blanket and laid it on the floor in the corner of one of the half walls. It was sweet considering our circumstances.
I looked over my shoulder to see if Soap had seen but he was still asleep.
"Thanks."
I laid down on the bed Ghost had made for me, i felt awkward as i did so. Ghost had walked away and sat against a wall diagonal from me. I was a little upset he didn't sit near where i was, but maybe it was for the best. I tried to get comfortable, flipping the cushions and laying my head against one, but it seemed impossible. I laid motionless for a minute before looking to where Ghost was. He was sat with his knees bent and wrists rested on them, his elbows sticking out. He had rolled up his sleeves a little, i could see his toned forearms.
"Ghost." I said.
He was looking in between his feet but when he heard me speak he looked over quickly.
"Come here." I reached an arm in his direction.
He shook his head at me.
"Please."
Ghost looked over in Soaps direction, who was still fast asleep, and then got up and walked over to me. I smiled as he carefully sat against the wall where i was laying. He was at-least five feet away.
"Thank you." I whispered.
"Just get some sleep." Ghost said back.
He was already looking at me, he was sitting the same way he was before, his head turned to me. I was looking at him, his eyes looming over me in his mask. I slid my hand as far as it could go towards Ghost. I put my palm up, wanting him to hold it.
He sighed and took his arms off his knees snd reached his right hand to me, lightly grabbing a few of my fingers. I couldn't help but feel butterflies from his touch. I quickly fell asleep, playing with the gloves on his finger.
