Ghost jumped out of the church window, keeping watch as i did too. We ran to the front of Church, seeing Soap standing by the entrance, Shadows incoming. Bullets went past my head as i ran over to Soap.

"Soap!"

"I'm glad to see you alive, LT."

It felt good to have all of us together, this way i knew no one had died. I suddenly thought of Alejandro. I don't know what happened to him. If Graves killed him.. i cant even imagine what i'd do.

I pushed away my thoughts as i saw two Shadows coming up the street, i couldn't dwell on anything when lives are at stake.

"We need a vehicle. On me!" Ghost had yelled, running past me and Soap over to an empty truck near the church. He ran up behind truck and shot at the Shadows that were approaching infront of us.

"They're bound to know it's us now." I said.

"That's why they're sending all they got." Soap replied. "Watch that alley, that's how i came through, there's a squad of Shadows just outside it."

We were fucked if we didn't get out of here soon.

Ghost pushed forward, shooting at the Shadows while trying to find a car that was drivable. Most of them had popped tires or busted in hoods, one was even on fire. I followed suit with Soap just behind me.

"Y/n, stay close." I heard Ghost over the gunshots.

It took us a minute to find a drivable vehicle, but we found a pickup with its lights still on and running.

"I'll drive. Johnny, take shotgun." Ghost looked in the cars back mirror. Shit. Two seater."

"It's fine, i'll squeeze into the back. We just gotta go." I hoped onto the driver seat and crawled behind it, there wasn't any seats but there was a small space i could fit into. It was better than nothing.

Ghost closed the driver door as Soap got inside, he turned his shoulder to look at me, he had a sorry look in his eyes.

"I'm fine, let's go." I ushered.

"How'd you manage to do that?" Soap laughed when he realized i was in the back.

"Would you like to trade places then?" I rolled my eyes. I couldn't help but notice Ghost eying Soap the whole interaction.

"Hold fast." Ghost turned the car in reverse and quickly ran over two Shadows, then going in drive and booking it down the road.

"I'll cover the left." I said, smashing out the window and shooting at any Shadows i saw.

"I got the back." Soap was firing from the back window behind me. I kept close to my the window i was firing at as to not accidentally get shot by him.

Eventually we made it out of the city, or at least out of where the Shadows were. They were mostly on ground so it wasn't hard to do.

"Close call, aye?" Soap put down his gun.

"You made it Johnny, i thought you wouldn't." Ghost was still driving.

"We made it, LT." I could tell Soap and Ghost were close.

"How far out are we going?" I asked.

"Just enough so that we're out of sight of city, then we keep moving afterwards." Ghost spoke. "They know were gone, and they're gonna be all over trying to find us."

"Jesus..." I sighed.

Who would've expected us to be betrayed, i sure as hell didn't.

"You two made it out together?" Soap pointed to me and Ghost.

"Yeah, we got out just in time." I responded. "Did you see where Alejandro went?"

"Too busy trying not to get shot."

"Damnit. I hope he's okay."

"Alejandro's smart, he'll be fine." Ghost butted in.

I hope so.

It was night when we got into the car, and the sun has just started coming up when we actually left the city. It was large and we didn't know entirely where to go. The roads were full of turns and it was hard to see over anything in the dark.

"This should be fine for now." Ghost pulled over to the side of a dirt road.

"What's this?" I asked, we were next to a building i wasn't familiar with.

"One of the safe houses, there's a few in the area." Ghost replied.

I hasn't even seen the house when we were driving, it blended into it surroundings good.

"Safe house? Why wasn't i told about that?" Soap was surprised.

"Never mind you, what about me? Fellow lieutenant here."

"Safety precaution." Ghost stepped out of the car.

I gave Soap a 'what the fuck' look. He reciprocated.

I got out of the car last, struggling to get over the seat from my narrow space. The safe house was a small building, looked abandoned and run down. A good disguise.

"Alejandro has one of his own, but it's farther out. We should head there tomorrow."

Me and Soap nodded in agreement.
