"Fuck." I grimaced as water spit up from the bottom of the speed boat.Me and Ghost and some Shadows were headed to a ship outside the oil rig, while Soap, Graves, and Alejandro went to the oil rig itself. I hadn't been on many boats before, especially not a small one speeding through the ocean. It was new was to me and i trying not to lose my balance and fall off the side.
"Here." Ghost caught onto my struggle and moved aside, motioning for me to take his spot. He was in the middle of the boat while i was closer to its edge.
"Thanks." I switched with him, it was a lot better.
I still had some water in my face but it wasn't as much as before. I looked over at Ghost, he didn't seem to struggle at all. He was so tall that all the water that hit him only got to his chest. Lucky bitch.
I watched as our boat broke away from the other two, heading over to the oil rig.
"All stations, ship is visual." Ghost spoke into his walkie.
The ship wasn't too far out, and neither was the rig. We'd be there in under five minutes.
Our ship hit a wave in the water, landing back down with a large splash. The boat shook and i stumbled backwards. I tried to grab onto something before i fell completely backwards, but Ghost instead grabbed my vest and pulled me back up.
"How are you not struggling with this shit." I regained my balance.
"It's not that hard." Ghost replied, turning his head to my direction.
"Gee, thanks."
"Ghost, y/n, we're moving to the main deck, what's your status?" Graves asked over our radio.
"Boarding the ship with Shadow 0-3 now."
We docked the boat and i grabbed a hold of the ladder nailed to the side of the ship.
"There's gonna be people up there, don't get hit." Ghost looked me deep into my eyes before i started going up. What's he so protective for?
I climbed the ladder and got onto the ship deck. I held cover as the rest of the shadows and Ghost got on board. We swept through the ship and took out the AQ soldiers on board. I stuck with two other shadows as Ghost made rounds on his own. I looked to the oil rig not too far ahead of me trying to see how it was going over there, but then i saw flares shooting up into the sky overhead.
"Visual on flares coming from the rig! What's your status?" I hurriedly spoke into my walkie. Flares weren't a good sign.
"y/n, they're signaling the ship, they're gonna launch that missile!" Soap responded back to me, his voice sounded strained with worry.
Shit.
"We need to stop that missile." Ghost appeared next to me.
I held back a smile. I always liked the way he said missile.
"Actual, we got a problem, missile is armed-controls are somewhere on the ship." Graves come on the radio.
I exchanged a look with ghost. Our ship? Why isn't it on the fucking oil rig?
"Where the fuck are the controls?" I asked Ghost.
Ghost muttered a few curses.
"Should be back where we first got on, we need visual on it asap." Ghost headed back to the middle of the ship, to the control room. But it usually doesn't mean the control room for a missile on a separate fucking oil rig.
"Who the hell puts the controls on a whole other ship?" I had to jog to keep up with Ghosts pace.
"Don't know, doesn't matter." Ghost started. "We just need to find them."
