4.6k words. thank u for the support, this is my christmas gift to all of u ♥︎ happy holidays !

Ghost was back from Russia, it was a four month trip. Four long months without him. It was definitely different, even in just a month of us being "together" i had grown accustom to his presence, now i had gone so long without it.

Our contact during his trip was sparse, only talking every now and then from satellite phones. It was enough though, we got through it. I wasn't sure if Ghost had missed me, he didn't vocalize feelings like that. It was only ever a few words at a time, despite our new relationship-if we could even call it that at this point- he was still formal. In person, not texting due to his absence, he was different. It was always different when dealing with him in person, but text was a lot different. It ended up being fine though, it's something i'd have to get used to if we were really continuing the thing called us.

"Clear the airway!" One of the workers called out, using his orange light sticks to point people in the opposite direction.

That meant his plane was landing-Ghosts. Everyone on the base scurried around, clearing out the are around where aircraft's landed. I stepped back a little too, staying far enough away so i wouldn't be trampled by a plane, but close enough so i was one of the first to see them disembark.

"Eager, aren't you?"

A familiar voice spoke from behind me, turning around i noticed it was Price.

"Only a little." I laughed.

Price walked and stood next to me, crossing his arms and looking up at the sky. I followed his gaze and noticed the small pixel of a plane that was growing in size as it got closer.

Any minute now.

"I'm glad you and him are together, you know." Price spoke.

"Don't get all soppy on me now, Captain." I grinned, taking a glance at Price.

He looked down away from the sky, turning to face me.

"It's true. I think it's good for him to have someone, considering how Simon is."

Price usually called him Simon, only ever referring to him as Ghost around people who weren't aware of his real name.

I looked over to him, a small smile playing on my face.

"I thinks it's good too."

Price nodded, his attention going back to the oncoming plane above. My gaze averted from Price to right above his shoulder, noticing Soap who just exited the building behind us. He saw me too, of course, but quickly looked away. He always tried his best to avoid me now, we weren't on the of best terms anymore.

I had never truly told Soap about me and Ghost, our rekindling. He sort of just found out one day. Put two and two together like everyone else. It wasn't hard to realize there something between Ghost and i, when we showed up together and things were okay again, that's when Soap knew.

Things had been frosty ever since. Soap avoided me, never saying too much at once. No matter how many times i tried to talk to him, he barely spoke back. He didn't forgive me. I had never expected him to, but that didn't stop me from trying. I led him on, used him to get back at Ghost. I knew it was wrong, but i still did it. Soap knew that too.

I felt like i had really lost him, and in all honestly i actually did. Whatever bond we had before was lost. Permanently cracked and i couldn't piece it back together. I had hurt him and it was something i could never truly repay.
