Chapter Fifteen: Bad Vibes and a Safe Place

I woke up to noises and it made me sit up quickly before looking around my room.

Looking over at the window, I got up and walked to it before looking out and seeing Sage's truck pulling up into the driveway.

As I moved away from the window, I walked to my bedside table and grabbed my phone to check the time.

5:44

After I placed my phone back down, I walked to the window and opened it up. I climbed out and carefully crawled to my spot before sitting down and watching Sage get out of his truck.

Raj was getting out of the passenger side.

"I need to take a shower." Raj said. I saw Sage walking to the back of the truck and jumping on the back before looking around.

He grabbed some bags and tossed them on the ground as Raj would grab them and walk out of view towards the house.

This whole scene had my mind in a complete state of confusion as I kept watching them.

I need to find out what was in those bags.

But I was scared to find out.

After a moment, Sage jumped off the truck and grabbed a bag before walking towards the house. I kept watching as he stopped and looked back at his truck as Raj was walking back into view.

"Can you wash my truck today?" Sage asks and Raj answers. "I don't want any evidence on it and need it spotless."

When the walked out of the view and I heard the front door shut from downstairs, I was slowly making my way back inside and stopped once I shut the window.

Nothing was making sense.

Evidence?

From what?

What the hell was Sage doing?

As I was looking around my room, I was thankful that the door was shut but I needed to figure something out. I didn't want to stay here and find out anything right now and being around Sage was something I couldn't handle.

I needed to leave for a while.

I had a sickening feeling in my stomach.

I looked around my room before walking to my drawer and grabbing some clothes. I grabbed a bag from under my bed and stuffed the clothes inside before grabbing my charger and whatever else I needed.

As I had everything, I slid my shoes on and slowly walked to the door. I opened it and peeked out, looking around and making sure Sage and Raj wasn't around before slipping out the room.

I slowly made it to the stairs and stopped when I heard noises.

"I'm going to take a shower." Raj said.

"Don't wake up Kaden."

After a moment, Raj was walking to the stairs and I quickly ran back to my room before slowly shutting the door.

I sighed as I leaned my head against the door and heard Raj walk by. I counted the seconds until I heard the door to the bathroom shut and I opened the door quietly.

After looking around, I confirmed that nobody was around before shutting the door and walking to the stairs.

I slowly walked down them as I heard the water running in the kitchen, knowing Sage was in there. I had to make sure not to make so much noise as I was heading for the door.

When I made it, I unlocked it and slipped out.

I breathed the air before rushing to my car and tossing everything in.
