Ashton:
You had been sitting in complete silence for the past twenty minutes. Your sister and brother-in-law were sitting quietly in front of you; clearly they weren't big fans of your relationship. Hopefully your mom and dad would be different. Ashton and you uncomfortably hold hands underneath the table as you sip on some wine.
"Y/N!" You stand from your chair immediately when you hear your mother's voice.
"Mom!" You smile and wrap your arms around your mom's neck. "I've missed you so much." You say, moving on to hug your father.
"We missed you too honey. Now, please introduce us to this strapping young man behind you."
"Strapping?" Your sister scoffs. You roll your eyes and step beside Ashton, grabbing his hand in yours.
"Mom, dad, this is Ashton." You lean your head against his shoulder and pull him close to you. "My boyfriend." Ashton smiles at your parents and shakes both of their hands.
"It's so amazing to meet the people that created such a beauty like Y/N." You stood surprised at the way Ashton could just put on a charm before your parents and then go back to a sexy hunk afterwards.
"Really?" Your sister mutters behind you. The four of you all stand in silence. "Mom, dad, he doesn't have a stable job, he's a musician." Your sister rants. Your heart drops in your chest, for this was supposed to be a happy night, a night where you tell your family you're actually engaged. "I'm sorry, but I can't be here right now." She grabs her husband and the two of them storm off towards the exit of the restaurant.
You stand basically frozen in place as you watch them leave. The notion didn't even make you sad, just angry that she'd be so insensitive.
"Oh honey, she's just jealous." Your father says, rubbing your back lightly. "You're only twenty-one and you've already found the one. It took her until she was twenty-six."
Calum:
"My parents are really strict, Cal." You say, pacing the space before the door. Calum leans up against the wall in the hallway, just watching you pace. His tanned arms were crossed over his chest as he just let you vent. "The last boy I dated, didn't go to college and my parents basically disowned me." You turn to him and stand in space, basically vibrating with frustration and nervousness. "You didn't even finish high school."
"Yeah, but I turned out okay." He says with a smile, trying to make you feel better.
"You've got tattoos, you're dick is all over the Internet, and you're in a band." You groan out, falling back against the wall across from Calum. You slide down to the floor, pouting out your bottom lip.
"Babe," Calum pushes himself from the wall and kneels down in front of you, "I really don't give a flying shit about what your parents think of me. The only opinion that I need in my life is yours," You smile lightly up at him as he smiles down at you, "and maybe my Mum's." You giggle and wrap your arms around your boyfriend's neck. He pulls you to your feet and holds you in his embrace. Giving you the much needed time to calm down.
Just as your nerves have time to settle, there's a knock at your door. Your eyes widen and you continue to press yourself against Calum, thinking maybe you imagined it.
"How about I get it?" Calum suggests as he pulls away from you.
"Promise me that no matter what they say you'll still love me." Calum comes back to you in one swift motion, kissing you passionately for a moment.
