*Gabby's POV*

"Can I get everyone's attention please?" My dad spoke from the edge of the back porch. I stood next to Andrea with a cup in my hand, filled with some cherry sour drink something Andrea made up and insisted I tried.

"Today is the start of something new for me, I finally have my baby girl back with me after 15 years." He sent a small smile at me as I stood there listening to my his little speech. "I have my whole family together for the first time ever and it feels so damn good." He lifted his drink and the many Santos around us did the same.

"To the new beginning for El Diablo and Lil Diabla. Welcome to the fam!" Spooky cheered from next to my dad, he hooked a strong arm around Spooky shoulder and sent him the most genuine smile I ever seen come from my dad.

For the first time ever, I was seeing my dad in his element. Not just him sitting across from me in a booth at some restaurant. I would finally get to know him. My whole life felt complete, all the guys were so nice and welcoming, I even enjoyed the little nickname I received of Lil Diabla from all the guys.

Light music played in the background while I stood a few feet off the back porch. I looked up at Spooky as he handed me a lit blunt. My cheeks flushed slightly before glancing up at my dad who just nodded with a smile.

Now never in my life did I think I would be smoking a blurt with my dad just a few feet away. After a few hits I handed it back up to Spooky who sent me another small smile and a wink before turning back to my dad and handing it over to him.

"Come on, one of my friends just got here." Andrea smiled hooking her arm around my arm and dragging me off towards another part of the back yard.

"Cesar, this is Gabby." I smiled nervously at him as he sent me a small smile, "Hola, Lil Diabla right?" He brushed his hand off before sticking it out for me to shake so I did.

"I guess, that's what everyone's calling me." I shrugged, I pulled the full pack of cigarettes out of my back pocket and placed one between my teeth.

"Where are Ruby and Jamal? They said they were coming." Andrea pouted and Cesar shrugged awkwardly. "Their mad at me." I could see a small frown come from the boy but after he glanced back up at Spooky it turned to a flat look.

"Why? It's been like 4 hours since I saw you with them." She was clearly annoyed and sat with her arms crossed.

"I told them Monse let me smash before writing camp." Andrea gasped and smacked Cesar hard. "Ow," he complained glaring at the girl and rubbing his arm.

"They mother cub her, of course their pissed." She said rolling her eyes and glancing over at me. "So basically we have three other friends, Monse, Ruby and Jamal. But since fuck head here doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut they aren't talking to him." She explained and I nodded.

"Need another drink?" She asked and I nodded pulling the cigarette out of my mouth, "please." I said handing her my cup and she nodded skipping off towards the drink table.

"So, you're the famous daughter of the devil everyone hasn't shut up about today." Cesar said chuckling and I nodded, "I am she." I shrugged placing the cigarette back between my lips. It was taken from my lips and placed into someone else's mouth making my glare.

"You having a good time?" My dad asked going to hand the cigarette back but I just shook my head and grabbed my pack again. "I am, all these guys are really nice." I nodded and he sent me a proud smile. "If they know what's good for them they will respect you too. You know if you have any issues you can always tell me." I nodded appreciatively before turning back to Cesar who had gotten quiet.

After my dad walked away he relaxed a little making me snort. "You're scared of him?" I chuckled and he eagerly nodded, "we all are." He said with a small chuckle.

The rest of the night was spent sitting to the side with Andrea and Cesar. They caught me up on everything needed to know about the block, including the colors I should avoid wearing on what blocks. Almost my entire wardrobe consisted of black so I'm sure it won't be an issue.

I learned a lot about Cesar too and found out that Spooky was his older brother. That earned him the nickname 'Lil Spooky'. I learned that for the most part my dad has been the role model for a lot of these guys. He protected them and had their back. Seeing how all these guys looked at him. Like he was their own dad. It made me happy knowing that even though he couldn't be there for me because of my witch of a mother, he was there for all these guys. How did I get so lucky to have a father like him?

"You're in school right? Senior?" Andrea asked and I nodded, "thank god. All my other friends are Freshman and Sophomores." She complained making me chuckle. I was at least thankful I would know a few people at the school.

"Andrea. We still have a few weeks. Why are you talking about school already." Cesar rolled his eyes making me chuckle again. These two where a hoot, it made me even more excited to start my own life here. I no longer had to live in my moms shadow, for the first time in years I could breath.

The party had finally died down, there were only a few people lingering. They all say at the patio table passing a blunt around while Andrea, Cesar and I sat to the side.

I stood up, excusing myself from the two who were having a full blown conversation about Ruby and Jamal. I obviously don't know them so I had no part in said conversation.

I made my way up the porch where my dad, Spooky, Antonio, Vincent and Martin sat passing a blunt around. After Spooky hit it he turned to look at me coming up the stairs and handed the blunt to me. I thanked him.

"So Gabby, how'd you get the tats?" Martin asked as I handed the blunt over to my dad who was next in the rotation. "Looking like I'm 30 has its perks." I chuckled shrugging. They nodded, "I can't believe you're only 17." Vincent said shaking his head and sending a look at my dad who chuckled. "I expect you guys to have her back, she's gonna raise hell in those streets and I know it." He sent a proud smile towards me making me blush lightly.
