*Gabby's POV*
"Gabriella!" My dad yelled from somewhere in the house, making me quickly finish the last swipe of mascara before stepping out to the living room.
Antonio was sat on the couch with a plate of eggs. "Where's Andy?" I asked grabbing a plate from my dad before taking a seat next to Antonio. "With Cesar I think, I don't know." Antonio said shrugged making me nod and turn towards the TV.
It took over a week of convincing but I finally got them to set the flat screen up in the living room. Antonio had whatever game he was playing paused and he was shoveling the food in his mouth.
"Gabby, when you get done eating will you run over to Spooky's and see if he got this weeks shipment?" I nodded shoving the last bite of eggs in my mouth before throwing the paper plate away and quickly washing off my fork and putting it away.
I stepped out of the house and noticed how dead the house across the street looked. For once there were no cholos scattered around the front yard like normal.
I knocked on the front door and it swung open, revealing a half naked Spooky. "Hey Lil Diabla." He said stepping to the side and letting me into the house.
"Baby, who is it?" I hard come from a bedroom and Spooky just rolled his eyes. "What can I do for you?" He asked walking into the kitchen and fumbling around with whatever ingredients he had spread across the counter.
"Dad wanted me to make sure you got this weeks shipment." He nodded and grabbed a rolled paper sack off the counter and handed it over to me. "Tell him it's short $2,000 but I'll have the money to him by tonight." I nodded going to turn on my heels.
A half naked girl came out of the door way and sent me a glare. "Who are you?" Her nasally voice making my face scrunch. It was like nails on a chalkboard. "Nunya, See ya, Spooky." I said being stepping out of the house.
"Who was that?" I heard before I closed the door and rolled my eyes as I made my way back over to my house. I set the paper bag on the counter before turning to sit on the couch again. Antonio had resumed his game which was Call of Duty zombies
"Wanna play? I can re-start?" He questioned and I nodded grabbing the extra controller he had handed me. He re-started the game and I started running around the map. "Do you even know how to play?" He chuckled and I shook my head. "I don't but I'm gonna learn today." We both chuckled.
After a while Antonio's phone went off and he groaned. "That's my que, I'll see y'all later." He called before stepping out of the house leaving just my dad and I.
"How are you liking it here so far?" My dad asked, not looking up from what he was doing in the kitchen. "I like it here, a lot." I said with a smile, I did love it here. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms.
"Good, I really enjoy having you around." He said with a smile on his lips but he didn't look up from the counter.
"Did Spooky say anything about this being short?" He asked finally glancing up at me. "Oh shit, yeah. He said it's about $2000 short but he would have it to you by tonight. Sorry, I forgot to relay that message" He nodded his head and turned back to write something down.
"All good, just try to remember next time." I nodded and turned back to the paused game. "Come play this with me, Antonio left mid game." He chuckled and nodded coming to take a seat and grabbing the controller.
Within 30 seconds of being unpaused we both died. Causing both of us to crack up laughing. He pulled a rolled blunt out from behind his ear, he lit it then handed it over to me. I don't think I'll ever get used to smoking weed with my dad.
My phone started to buzz and Treys name popped up on my phone.
"What up, fool." I said holding the phone between my ear and shoulder. "Hey, how's it going? How's Cali?" He asked and I hummed in response before handing the blunt back over to my dad.
"Cali is amazing, you would love it here." I heard him mumble something before a ding could be heard, "I better go we got some more customers coming in, I miss my regular. Don't be a stranger." I chuckled before I said my goodbyes and turning back to my dad who handed the blunt over.
There was a knock at the front door before a few guys came in, these ones I didn't recognize, they were all older but completely covered in tattoos, one guy even had his entire face tattooed to look like a skull.
"Skull, Benny. This is my daughter Gabriella, Gabby these are my homies Skull and Benny." He introduced and they both sent me a large smile. "Oh my god, finally!" Skull exclaimed loudly before pulling me off my feet in a hug. "You can call me Uncle Skully, Im so happy to finally meet you. You're all your dad has talking about for years." He finally set me down after my dad glared at him.
"It's nice to meet you guys too." I smiled, I never really knew anything about his friends. Our monthly dinners consisted of him wanting to know everything that happened in the past month I hadn't seen him.
"Are you still with that crazy boyfriend your dad was telling us about? The old one?" I stifled a laugh at the look my dad gave Skull, he looked embarrassed which just made me laugh.
"No, I broke up with him a while ago." Skull pouted while taking a seat on the couch. "Oo, zombies. Let play." He said tossing the controlled to me and starting the video game. I couldn't help but laugh. All my dads guys acted like children and it was hilarious.
For the first time in a very long time, I felt genuinely happy. I smiled widely up at my dad as he watched us play.
