*Gabby's POV*

"I can explain." I said getting off Spookys lap and holding my hands up in defense. My cheeks were blushing bright red. I don't know if I'm more embarrassed or scared because I'm definitely skipping school and if my mom was here I would probably be buried 6ft under.

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" He questioned closing the door behind him and glancing up at me.

"Yes but I had a bad day so I came home, got locked out so I ended up here." I sorta explained raising an eyebrows. "That doesn't explain why you were sitting on his lap." He said playfully smirking at me.

"His ex was here and she was annoying me." I shrugged making both of them chuckle. "Mija I don't care. Spookys a good guy." He sent me a smile making me roll my eyes again.

"I just came to drop this off." He said throwing a brown bag to spooky. "Oh, one sec." I said grabbing my backpack and pulling the brown sack out and throwing it to him.

"This from Celeste?" He questioned making Spooky nod, "she's a trip." Spooky chuckled making my dad nod, "she's crazy." My dad said shaking his head then stepping out of the house.

"Spooky-" I started but he cut me off by shaking his head, "you can call me Oscar, Hermosa." He smirked at me.

"Oscar, I'm sorry." I said my cheeks blushing hard. I don't know why Spooky makes me blush so damn much. "She was just irritating me all over again and that was the first thing I could think of." I shrugged.

"Don't worry about it." He waved off making me feel a little better. "Okay, I'm gonna take off so I can go nap. Come over later today and we can smoke, I owe you a few." He nodded and winked at me as I made my way out of the house. Cheeks blushing like mad again. Fuck, why does he have to do that.

As I made my way back over to my house I nervously stepped into the house. My dad was sitting on the couch watching TV and smoking a blunt.

"Hey, kid." He said handing the blunt over to me so I took a seat in the chair next to the couch. "I got a call from Crack today." He stated, emotion completely gone from his tone. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Crack, like the drugs?" I questioned and he chuckled lightly shaking his head "Crack, leader of the Prophets." Again emotion completely gone from his tone.

"Oh, was it about the dumb kid in my Calculus class?" I cringe, he nodded. "Kid won't be causing problems anymore, but Gabby." He took a deep breath finally looking up at me.

"You need to be smarter with your mouth and attitude, being my daughter alone is enough to have a target on your back, you keep running your mouth like that and you're gonna get yourself or one of my guys shot." I frowned instantly.

"That being said." He hesitated for a second before pulling a handgun out of a small black case. "You're gonna have to learn to use one of these." He said handing the pistol to me. I wasn't completely useless when it came to guns. I had gone to a shooting range with Trey once and he let me shoot one a few times.
